Anybody at last night's game should have noted that Dan Seaborne's passing was excellent. He does not hoof the ball long like many people say he does. He adds balance to the team and his passing over short and long distances is very good. Ok, sometimes he does bypass the midfield but it is not just with a long punt forward but with a pinpoint PASS onto Lambert's chest to get the move started.

He was good defensively, but his body position is still far too closed when it comes to passing. He has improved since he has been with us though.

I can't understand people writing off players even before they have kicked a ball in the Championship, how can you say he is not Championship standard if he hasn't played there yet?

He's not young though, he's approaching his prime. I don't get on his back, i'm just stating facts, if you read what i said, i even said he's improved...

because I didn't think he was League 1 standard, too clumsy and poor distribution

I have to say I am not a Seaborne fan. I will however give him credit for the fact his passing has improved immensely. For what ever reason I like him better when he is playing left full back. For me he looks more the part he is not that slow either although Dan Harding is probably faster. I have to say I would not be happy for the boo boys to get going against him. That would be totally unjust and unnecessary.

Martin or Seaborne?

Seaborne. He made huge improvements last season and has been impressive through pre-season, equally Jaidi seems to be less in favour. Sebo played a lot of games last season and even though a lot of fingers were pointed after Peterborough away, he was still part of the best defence in the division.

But hes already in the team ?

True but not he wasn't really a first team regular. Anyway I think he is a real asset, you don't lift many good young centre backs out of lower league footy but we got two. Unfortunately for Martin I think he is a bit more inexperienced and might end up on loan, I guess that would be a good move all round.

He's not young though, he's approaching his prime.

He only turned 24 back in March. He's at least two years away from his prime, probably three or four.

He's not a kid, but he's still young and has a lot of opportunity to improve.

For me a centre back's prime is around 28 to 30 and i think Seaborne could in time become a key player he skippered a decent Exeter side as a relativly young player so must have leadership skills and from what i saw last night though only a friendly looked assured enough to me and aleft footed central defender can be no bad thing and spending time around Jose and Jaidi can only help. Going back to the prime issue Chris Perry was our best defender in a struggling side at 35 and Jaidi is still very important to us still though he is getting on a bit so to sum up i agree with the original article give the lad a chance and lets see
