Palace aren't bad going forward but defensively they're leaving so much space. If we actually passed into those spaces we'd rip them apart, but instead we choose to pass back and sideways far too much. This Palace side are there to be had.

Yeh it's way too open which makes you wonder why we weren't playing the forward balls first time. We seem to be doing that a lot more in the second half and exploiting the space behind Palace. Should've done that in the first half.

I have to say I've been nervously impressed by Valencia over the last couple of games. Fair play to him, he's played very well, can't fault him (though the night is still young).

 

Rooney in midfield, on the other hand, has been awful tbh.
