Hiding in the bushes
With no chance of relegation and, let's face it, no chance of reaching the play-offs is it time for JFH to bring a few more of the B-team and youth team into action as we head towards the last handful of games this season?

The academy and youth team players may well be the future of QPR if Tony F no longer wants to spend vast sums of cash on more established stars so why not give the home-grown talent a go?

Anyone know if there are a few tasty gems hidden away in the reserves or younger players worth giving a go? Of those given a chance so far who has impressed the most?
 
You don't play too many at the same time otherwise it would turn into the under 21 team and you will learn nothing of how they fit into a senior team. They need to play and interact with (allegedly) better, more experienced players.

It is what he is beginning to do
Robinson, Cole, Gladwin, ElK are playing and getting Luongo. Polter and Chery established.
Just need Conor playing more

As Eamon says...need the team still intact or we lose impetus and structure. So far impressed in how JFH is doing this..

Exactly as Beth says, Saturday's game was an example of the manager experimenting with his other options. I have to say that, given the number of negative comments about the game on here, it's no wonder that managers can be conservative about this kind of thing sometimes. Personally, I enjoyed the first half and in particular Robinson's performance. The fact that we only scored a single fluky goal should not detract from the decent football and the number of good chances we created. Yes, the second half was disappointing but bear in mind Charlton were fighting for their lives while JFH had the luxury of tinkering. I just wish he had tinkered with Matt Phillips earlier - like last November.

No,there's only 1 super Kev ! 2 seasons ago they thought that Grego Cox was going to be the next big thing,banging them in for fun in the reserves.After a handful of senior games,mostly as sub,he's been tossed on the scrapheap deemed surplus to requirments!Strange really when players like Luongo get game after game,irrespective of how crap their playing !
 
I have mixed feelings about this.
I agree that JFH should be looking at his options. However, I believe this should be done a couple of players at a time at the most.
When people have paid good money to attend, especially away fans, they should expect a decent side to be put out.
I thought we were pretty poor for most of the game Saturday and Faurlin and Washington should have had some game time imo.
 
Personally think we can put out a team entirely of players who will be here in future and still make up a decent side.

The way Phillips is playing, for example. He's giving us nothing Petrasso couldn't do.

Agree, Saturday was pretty much forgettable apart from the ever improving Smithies and Polter and of course an excellent debut from Robinson who was flying into tackles as though he had never been injured. And what a winner from El Khayati, we'll have a few more of those please.
I felt a bit sorry for Charlton, I thought their second half performance deserved at least a point, if they had the ability to shoot straight they probably would have had all three.
Not sure why Phillips continues to play or Washington isn't, and I've said a hundred times that we are a better side with Faurlin on the pitch.

Ale? Generally yes. But he wasn't against Boro or at Fulham. When he's having a bad day his lack of speed and strength make him look well past it sadly.
 
Personally, I like the fact that JFH does not rush them in. There is no one in the squad who has been put out to dry save for JET and when those that were supposedly frozen out have been given their chance, they've looked ready for it. It took a while for the players to learn what was expected of them but we now look as though we can give anybody a game, and they will only get better. I'm looking forward to next season but I reckon we need at least another season of team and squad building before we can mount a serious challenge for promotion. There are still too many weak links in our defence but then I trust JFH to sort that out.
