Pretty amazing stat I read in yesterday's paper....

''Leicester are on the brink of winning the BPL title despite having faced more shots at goal than they have recorded themselves. their opponents have also had more of the ball''

Shots difference for champions:
Leicester -10
City +149
Utd +315
Utd +76
City +341
Utd +159
Chelsea +461
Utd +277
Utd +266
Utd +287
Chelsea +281
Chelsea +298
Woolwich +161

I find it incredible and even though I can accept it is not a case of luck, I find it hard to explain it as anything else. Maybe just flukey and freaky?

Not really. When you pack the defence, the number of on-target shots that are :

- deflected away from goal is going to be high

- get thru the gaps or are deflected in such a way that the GK is in trouble is
going to be low(er)

Saw the above in the Chelsky 2012 CL SF away leg against Barca.

What a joke. Villareal 15 points behind 3rd place Real Madrid, will probably be playing in the CL next season......and they wanted to cut the PL places to 3!
Apart from the top 3,the rest would have a job in our Championship League.
On the other hand there's just four points separating the top three - while in last season's Premier League there was a twelve point gap between first and third.

A Sunderland win relegates Villa so could be a day of mixed emotions. I've always had a soft spot for Villa. Good lads to have a beer with after a match, even when Spurs beat them.

The communication in this Sunderland side is appalling.
I keep seeing two players picking up one man and then both losing him when play moves on.
Ridiculously amateurish.

Kirchkoff looks far better than he did on his disastrous debut against us.
Poor game to chuck him into and they really paid for it.
