It's essentially a case of running before you can walk. Let's say you win the EL *shudders as bile enters mouth*. Now; if Klopp can rebuild your patchwork squad and train them up to the level that they can compete in the CL without embarrassing all of England as well as challenge for the top 4, the man is an absolute miracle worker. My point is that it is almost impossible to envision you - or anyone for that matter, I would've said the same thing about Spurs last season - progressing that quickly...so how exactly is this 'prize' a reward?
Correct me if I'm wrong, but finishing in the top 4 is usually a better indication of preparedness for CL level than progress in the EL? And if a team is regularly top 4, what do they need the EL for unless they stupidly do a United and fail to qualify from the easiest group in the tournament and the EL then offers them another backhanded roll of the dice...
Yes yes if you look at it from a purely cl wild card perspective CK then everything you say makes complete sense but it adds prestige to the Europa for one, and also gives clubs who may never qualify for the cl maybe due their country's co efficient.Understandably but yes, I did have your lot in mind when I wrote it

Anyone winning the Europa should be more than capable of having a decent cl showing anyway. The gulf between savilla and say cruj is not that great.
And most importantly its a bloody good trophy to win. Any cup is worth winning imo.
For the group stages, certainly.
Getting into the CL group stage is easy money for starters, regardless of how you perform.
It brings your club greater exposure in the world of potential sponsors.
To consistently survive in the CL, you have to start somewhere (if from humiliation, so be it) .
If winning the EL is your easiest route to that path, take it.

Sucky cannot. He lacks the intellectual ability to be a Wum Master. Wumming the Gooner board and taking bites of IQ87 is about as high as he can, realistically, expect to climb on the Wum-ladder.

Ck said the europa winners cl slot was pointless/a joke/not worth it, as they would be nothing but fodder for teams who have "progressed" to qualify. Its easier to say that when your out of it i suppose but its a rubbish statement imo

I am thinking of setting up the HIAG WUM Examination Board (HWEB, for short), and devising a set of exams, in order to grade would-be wumsters, as follows:-
GRADE 1: ability to use gentle ribbing techniques in order to get bites out of bell-end posters
GRADE 2: ability to use advanced wum techniques in order to get slightly more intelligent posters to take you seriously
GRADE 3: ability to ensnare all-comers with a rich variety of techniques
WUM MASTER: the ability to assume an alter-ego to ensnare wums and hand back to them their arses on a regular basis
I think Sucky will find it very difficult to make it past GRADE 1, tbh.
