So,it's looking increasingly likely, Leicester will be champions, and having made 12 sub appearances for them he's eligible for a winners medal!..good luck to him I say,it's just a shame that the only current swan (it's assume) to win a champions medal has been so shabbily treated by certain me berserk of our board

Agreed. Although I think Dyer was ****e for us in recent times and hasn't exaactly done great things at Leicester, good luck to him. He was one of the stars of our promotion season for sure but was treated very badly by the Club and the millionaire with a face like a dustpan who couldn't keep it in his trousers.

Not sure he's going to be laughing as such - he'll have a winners medal and well done to him, but he'll know that he's been - by and large - a mere passenger on the Leicester City title bus.

An awful shame how things worked out here and nobody deserves what actually happened to him, but it's funny how football works out and a winners medal will certainly be a solid start to balancing out his life again. I wonder what his next step in football is going to be - it's unlikely to be with Swansea unless we boot out our wealthiest director/shareholder.

He is well settled at Leicester now and even though he has many friends in Swansea he will never play for us again as long as any of the current board including Jenkins is here. They are all involved with the underhanded way they treated Dyer..

We're not going to be buying him this summer. That's a fact.

No slight on the lad but he just hasn't cut it. Although in fairness he's not had the opportunity to prove himself, which is true, and he's had to compete with Albrighton, Mahrez and Schlupp.

Who said anything about buying ?

The long and the short of it? Nathan Dyer's only at Leicester because his wife was banging Swansea City FC's richest director behind his back, management (Monk and Co.) didn't back him up when he found out as they were more worried about keeping their own jobs, and so he got carted off to any club that could be found (in this case, Leicester) never to be seen again. It caused heavy unrest in our squad as Dyer was a stalwart, players stopped playing for Monk as he didn't back up Dyer throughout it all, the club nose-dived down the table, the old guard like Britton and Routledge were being singled out and left to rot by Monk, but Monk thankfully got fired in the end and we've got a sense of control again at last. The issue is that we still have that bloody director on our board, and he's our richest one so there's not really anything we can do about it.

So when we have to put up with pundits and fans forums saying "I can't believe Swansea sacked Monk, what a stupid move, blah blah blah", it's not purely footballing reasons as to why he ended up leaving. Part football, part politics, part Nathan Dyer's missus affair.

To answer the actual question... He has 1 more year on his contract. Ends in June 2016.

Soz guys, I missed all of this, must have been away, but is all this really true or just a bit of forum fun? Absolutely awful if it is.

The last I thought I'd heard was that Dyers wife had just had a baby not too long before he left for the Foxes, at least I thought I did.

I really hope its just a load of bull because its such a horrible story. Feel so bad for Dyer a Swansea legend, one of our all time hero's, to be forced to end his Swansea career this way is criminal. If it turns out to be gospel we should all go down to Morgans hotel and piss in the foyer, even better, the restaurant.

But why would we not have to buy him if we wanted him?

I think he was just joking because you were the one to bring up [not] buying him. Either joking or getting defensive.... Probably the latter. Just to put the record straight, Leicester would have to buy Nathan Dyer. But, as you rightly pointed out...no chance (of an offer coming in).

Morgan is such a drip anyway I can't believe he's a £millionaire let alone shagging Dyers wife, who was pretty hot as I recall, it just beggars belief.

In all honesty, I've no idea! But the story certainly transcends this forum...and the 'missus' has apparently been spotted with Morgan since. Again, possibly hearsay. Who the hell knows?! The whole thing was a mess - be nice to know what the hell happened. But generally these things don't come out - I'm still waiting for Kenny Jackett to release a statement as to why he let Leon Knight go... :emoticon-0158-time:

Monk never backed Dyer <doh> This was the final straw that broke the camels back with the relationship between Monk and the board........ Swansea wouldn't have the nerve to sell Dyer to anyone, If a club comes in for him and Dyer fancies the challenge they will get him for free......and rightly so....we deserve sod all and will get sod all....

Good to see the debate is rocking on, It will be interesting to see what this summer brings regarding Dyer, as it will for the rest of our squad, this is going to be one hell of a summer between the Swans and Wales........<party>

Yes it is Dragon so lets hope Jenkins and the board make the right decisions for the club, Not the cheapest or the expensive options but the right option that will see us move on and grow..... Will be very exciting to see what they do....
