As an Ipswich fan, and neutral I cannot believe this is even an article. I remember you guys in league 2 not so long ago. You're top 6 again this season, bloody embarrassing article this. Christ.
It obviously isn't - after 39 games we are where we are on merit, our season hasn't panned out how it might have, but let's not keep pedalling the myth that we have some wonder squad; it isn't, and it never was.
You haven't had the misery of watching us for the past 4 years. And you don't have to put up with his lies, deceit, bollocks and Allam loving diatribe. You know he spent £60m putting this squad together right?
Shocking performance last night. Some of us who could still be arse to go to Derby including many old school all more or less agreed at half time Bruce has taken us as far as he can now and it's time for a change. The truth is we blow hot and cold too often, still don't have a leader or proper striker and cannot turn enough good sides over anymore when it matters. Forget promotion, the useless twat is still hopeless with money to spend and always will no matter where he ends up. For the last time Bruce OUT.
You see I don't agree. I think we are 4th with the best squad in the league that has been managed very poorly, with some archaic football tactics and no plan B to mix things up. In certain games we have played square pegs in round holes - Derby at home is one prime example. When the team has been arsed to perform - we've looked about the best team in the league. Even the narrow defeat in Middlesbrough we were the better team.
I think this would have been better coming from SB in his post match interview after last nights showing. I have just listened to it. Same old stuff again. Hindsight etc etc. For ****s sake !!!
The problem I have is, as soon as we go behind you fully expect a loss. You just could not see us getting back into last nights game and that's a familiar theme. And sadly that's down the manager's (in)ability to change things.
Or even start off with the right team, we carnt score goals so we start with no strikers, with the best will in the world Aluko isn't the answer his goal on Saturday if we are honest was lucky. So we start with no strikers and no leave 2 strikers out the squad (admitadly they aren't the best) so if your in midfield and you look up to play a pass you must think ****ing hell all I can see is midfielders, I'll go sideways
The team (players) and tactics, to me, are different things - I see our team as having a fair bit of quality but lacking a few ''leaders''. I wrote on another thread that I think there's a malaise at the club that's slowly spreading from the very top all the way down to the fans a blind man can see Bruce's body language and demeanour has changed this past this month, I thing it's got to be rubbing off on the players ........ as the Bard said - ''There's something rotten in the state of Denmark'' that we, the bottom of the food chain, know **** all about.
Lets be honest. we're spineless and that can be interpreted in many ways and nearly all of them correct.
I think HIS REIGN is nearing an end but nevertheless I appreciate his achievements in his first 2 years. Overall he will go down in history as our most successful manager even though he may be close to time expired now.
