Surely by finishing the season he was just being professional. None of us know what MP said to your board after Cortese, but surely you wouldn't want the manager saying he was leaving at the end of the season and have your season collapse.

It's not real hatred. It's more to do with pantomime villainy. Based on your clubs general all round aura of spivvery (are you going to tell me the etiology of that word now? Shan't bother to highlight the irony if you do).

The squad would've left even if Pochettino had stayed.
They were approached by teams that are seen as much more attractive, especially to agents.
Do you really think that Schneiderlin would've turned down Man Utd and van Gaal? I disagree.

Levy's a notoriously hard negotiator and I'm glad that this is the case.
He seems to rub some people up the wrong way, but they generally hold similar reputations themselves or are just ****e.
Various people talk up the professionalism of his approaches, MK Dons for example, but that might just be Levy varying things for different clubs.

West Brom's chairman, Jeremy Peace, isn't exactly well loved himself, by the way.
The Berahino transfer seems to have fallen foul of his own disagreement with Tony Pulis, if rumours are to be believed.
I'm not saying that this piece is about him and West Brom, but...:

Huh? Have you seen our full backs this season?!

Rose has been brilliant for the second season running, come to think of it no LB has been better than him this season in the Prem, whereas Walker, with the exception for 4-5 game blip aside has also been superb. Then we have Davies and Trippier who've been great when they've played and it's helped the other two to really up their games. There's an argument to make that our full back roles are our strongest area in the squad because if we took Rose and Walker out of the side, Davies and Trippier will do near enough just as good a job. There is a reason why we have the best defence in the league this season and the full backs have played a major role in that, so Soares is more than safe at Southampton.

As for Toby, he was never yours, you had him on loan, he performed well, we became interested and he chose to join us over you.

And as I already said, I'm so glad we failed in getting Wanyama, in fact, I hope you guys tie him down to a 10 year deal just to put to bed any worries that we may come back in for him because I don't want that liability anywhere near this club. Rodriguez is just your version of Jack Wilshere, a professional hospital patient blighted by football so like Wanyama, I'm more than happy at the failure to acquire him.

    Etiology ~ noun

    1. The study of the causes of diseases.
    2. The origin of a disease.

    cf. 'Etiologist'.

    ...
In this case, it looks like a severe case of delusion and hallucination brought about by two relegations in a short space of time and exacerbated by repeated rape at the hands of Liverpool, Arsenal and United.

Recommended course of treatment: go and stick pins in your effigy of Pochettino, then kindly p*ss off.

For what it's worth, I love being hated by opposition fans.

I'd say after Chelsea, we're arguably the most hated club in the country and Chelsea only have that title because their fans and captain are despicable low-life racists. We just seem to be able of finding that knack of pissing everyone off and I think it's brilliant. Football should be built on animosity in my eyes, it helps create a better atmosphere in games and the footballing world in general.

I couldn't give a flying toss whether Saints fans hate us or not. It just puzzles me why they reserve their hatred for us when they've been gang banged by Pool, the Goons and Utd.

It does seem to mean that we don't get any games where the opposition roll over, though.
"Remember when Spurs bought that player off us decades ago and he turned out to be good? <grr> "
    Ridiculous ****.
Because the media told them that they were supposed to get banged by the Big Teams in question.
    Not us though, cos... reasons.

Some other ****ing ology then. A tendency to talk nonsense and consider it wit. Synonomous with unfulfilled dreams of former glories.

Recommended course of treatment; sit in a darkened room and think about the title.

Getting played off the park at Priestfield is probably not one of the highlights you would want to recall from your league 1 days but I remember it with great affection

I think it stems from jealousy, I see similarities in Spurs and Soton, we both like playing good football, both try bringing through the academy and both have loyal supporters BUT, I'd say we're just the next level up from them, which they can't stand. This isn't even meant as a dig but we are a better and bigger club than Southampton and I think that really annoys them and so it somewhat creates a little rivalry in their heads. After Pompey, I think Spurs are Soton's next biggest rivals.

It's quite funny really, as I was saying on my previous post about how I enjoy being hated, it's working out pretty well:

Arsenal - hate us the most.
Chelsea - hate us the most.
West Ham - hate us the most.
Soton - hate us the most in terms of Prem sides.
Liverpool - competitive rival in recent seasons which brings animosity between both sides.
Leicester - probably beginning to hate us <laugh>.
Everton - probably dislike us as we were once competitive rivals yet we progressed and they faltered, so jealousy there as well.
Aston Villa - probably cry at the fact they used to be competitive rivals with us and Everton and are now a shambles of a football club, probably hate us just because we're Spurs.
Stoke - when I left the Britannia a few years back, all I remember hearing was "cockney ****s wanna smash 'em!".

Villa fans actually praised ours quite a lot after our recent game, strangely.
The "Lerner Out" and "Lerner for Arsenal" chants helped, I think.

Stoke fans seem to say that sort of stuff about anyone from London, too.
Spurs, Chelsea, Arsenal... Man Utd. Whoever.

I was at that match! The Gills were superb and I believe that future England players Lallana and Lambert both played for the saints was that when Stimson was in charge?
