Well, I guess after 7 points out of a possible 9, AN has a 'stay of execution!!!!' We COULD still do it!!!!
The Toon Army can't complain about their luck in the two goals they scored - a fortuitous penalty and Mitrovic's header deflecting off Bennett to loop over Ruddy. I'd rather dwell on the sheer quality of all 3 of our goals. (And yes, I did note the wink Cromer).
We were extremely lucky today, AN failed to change things when it was obvious Newcastle were on the ascendancy. They equalised late on because of this and Olsson gave him a stay of execution. He should be sacked at the end of the season regardless
I said on the match day thread I thought AN was too late making the changes as Newcastle made positive subs and were on top. But we won, so what do we know.
I would have liked to have seen the subs on earlier - especially for Naismith. No further comment!!!!
I think if you judge AN's performance over the season you could make a reasonable argument either way for him to stay or go, although certainly now is not the right time to make a change. I think I'd keep him if we go down. If we stay up and don't want to be in a relegation battle next year then it might be worth considering a change, but only if the right alternative was available. To be honest I'm well and truly on the fence
I think if (if!) we manage to survive, transfer targets may not be so quick to rule out a move here as last season, when we in this division, and AN, were both 'new kids on the block', so to speak. We were fairly evidently many/most people's favourites to go back down, hence a reluctance to commit to the fine County from Haller, Koulibaly, etc. With a full season in the PL under our belts, both the club and the gaffer might seem a more attractive proposition next time around - here's hoping
OK, I will bite. Actually you can take a running !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! you negative old? git Your matchday thread was excellent but why do you have to ruin it with such anti sentiments about our owners and manager? When you get no response you claim to be trying to get posters to "bite". But it has got to the point now that your negativity can only be seen as a bitter attack on the club hierachy, We won yesterday, other posters have said how great this result was, but I have not seen a post from you to this effect.
I just tell it how I see it mate, great result yesterday and I'm still hoarse today. TBH I'm warming to AN but I'll never warm to the Stowmarket Two
