I love JERS GIRL, JP hasn't wasted his money there. If it came up soft next March she would be a serious Mares Hurdle contender. Any info on how much he had to pay to get her?
Good shout Ste, backed it to win and got the F/C too....close, but I'll have it!! Like Houndscourt here at Sedgers!
The Power Gold Cup really has taken a drop in standards with that nag winning. I suppose the way the fixture falls this is the reason.
Had a rule 4 on that price but still handsome profit .........seen this horse run a few times this year and it was obviously being kept for this .
I wish Smokey...have to leave a chum to the airport later... ...could always ask the blighter to take a taxi...
Muthraab Aldaar @ 5/1 Moonday Sun @ 11/4 Ikerrin Road @ 2/1 Veeraya @ 6/1 Flying Fantasy @ 4/1 5 Folds, 1 bet * £20.00 EW How was this one for you Ron ?I had the fourfolds and trebles to smaller but I feel she should have won on Veeraya. http://www.sportinglife.com/racing/...5998/dacia-wolverhampton-handicap-div-1/video
At 1/5 the odds a place that returns £343.73. Only a hd away from £47,593.73 4 folds £171.06 to £1 ew stakes 3 folds £215.85 to £1 ew stakes I think
It was a painful one Ron but you get used to them in this game I guess - you learn to take them philosophically but they are hard when you think you got your bit right and picked the right horse only for bad luck or jockeyship to cost you. In this case it was a bit of both as she gave up her position easily after the first furlong which would have left her in pole position, but would still have won but for bad luck at the end when Gulland rock pulled out across her. The result is as it is however and if you want to celebrate the winners you have got to be able to accept the losers. Another way of seeing it is also that Ikerian Road would have lost in another stride were the runner up in his race ridden better, so some you win and some you lose.
