Somewhere near Watford
If the rumours are true, and i believe they are, the team had arrived at the ground on Saturday, many with suitcases ready to go on their holidays. Forgive me, but when did 'International Break' mean 'holiday'? Surely if you're not playing for your national team you're not good enough and should be training to improve, rather than swanning off to Dubai as soon as the final whistle blows! Is there any wonder that we played so flipping awfully last Saturday if many of our squad, and maybe even the management, were thinking about catching flights and sunning themselves! Who authorised such a ridiculous decision as to let the team bring cases to the ground?!

Signed upset and angry of Watford (who spends her hard earned cash to watch matches she thinks her team should be able to focus 100% on!)

I felt exactly the same when I read that Mbokani was at the Brussels airport when the bombe went off!

We are in a dog fight and need our players to be focused on the relegation battle, time for holiday is after we survive! <grr><doh>

Saying that, obviously glad he survived the atrocity, but yep, what on earth was he doing there in the first place?

If that's true and they're all getting on each other's nerves, fair enough, go a few days after the game, they have 2 weeks to play with. Don't bring suitcases to the match and jump on a plane straight afterwards. Well all know that when we are due to go on holiday our last day at work is done at 75% effort at best! Our mind is elsewhere. They should have gone back to work for at least a few days before having time off imo. That way they would have been more focused on the job in hand and it wouldn't perhaps have been the debacle that it was.

Just my thoughts obviously, but it was so infuriating to watch them giving very little effort. Even Gomes, who is usually so 'in the game' and passionate, wasn't really there. Very upsetting to watch for me.

Not holding myself up as a paragon of virtue, but I do, and have to, give 100% everyday of my job, including the last day before a holiday!
And I don't think it's actually fair to put a blanket 'they have two weeks to play with' on them all - it depends entirely upon where they are escaping to. Doubtless there may be some who are stretching their holiday time to the max, but it may well be that others have no choice. For instance, if I were to go home for a fortnight I'd be making my travel plans to maximise my time there - a 30 hour flight can play havoc with you physically & mentally. That, along with the recovery time, can make two weeks seem like two days... :emoticon-0100-smile
 
There is an interesting thread on another forum that runs along the lines of the players earned plenty of brownie points in the first half of the season, but are starting to run out of credit now. Many different points of view have come out since what was a very poor display on Saturday, but the feeling seems to be that we have moved on from players who hoped to get Premiership wages by fighting for promotion, to ones that now have the means to choose where they will go on holiday.

They have earned there wage for making us almost safe by jan But they are playing for the place for next year ,any of them could be on the bench
 
The thing is, as i see it, they're off for a few weeks in 6 weeks time...why do they have to have a proper holiday now? I just don't get it! And if this break is the reason that they were so awful last week it's indefensible in my book...am i completely bonkers? lol

I re-iterate, Troy's words say it all - the awful performance was a result of fatigue due to the high intensity of their normal game, not because their minds were on a holiday. But no, you're not bonkers. :)

Last game of season 2014 home to Huddersfield is another example of what is totally unacceptable to the paying public. Everyone has an off day but should be totally concentrated on game not on outside issues.

Yes, although sometimes the images aren't crystal clear. I got one to try because reception through the antennae in our area is atrocious - I object to Sky's prices (as well as their owner), Virgin isn't available here and Freesat costs around £300 to install. It allows me to watch 90% of UK Freeview channels (if I wanted to - most are rubbish) via the internet &, I suspect, TV from around the world. As well as sport, it gives free access to just about every film ever made, and box sets of TV series too. The only downsides I've come across are the occasional lack of clarity & maneuvering your way through everything can be a bit slow. But money talks, and the savings are worth it.

If you're interested, I can point you to a guy who runs his business via Facebook - he sells them already set up & ready to go.
