The US did that between the wars. They now admit their policy of isolationism was the worst thing they could possibly have done, because it left a vacuum into which Nazi Germany expanded. We have to learn from the mistakes of the past, or else we are doomed to repeat them.

Isolationism has been proved not to work, and you recommend we do it?

I would agree and put them top of all Intel lists if I had to guess
I don't however agree with Israel and don't much care for them having worked for Teva for 20 years ... Just me didn't like how they operated and even back then they would spin everything against Arabs
IMO the Arab people have faced a lot of world hatred over the years
Mention SA to joe public in Europe and I am betting most will think of beheading and women beaters
    Or greedy oil lords
I am certain the UK does massive business with these people?

Sadly you cannot talk to these freaks because they are only interested in their corrupt rules and ramblings that are not relevant in a modern society.
    The beheading of gays.
Raping and stoning woman to death.
Walking into villages and executing all the men in front of their children.
And the rest of the barbaric stuff they do
This has nothing to do with the West.
All we can do is keep taking them out and never give them a chance to take spread their hate amongst us.

    Protection
I would enforce ID cards to gain entry into places like airports or stations

It wouldn't stop the attacks as I have said before Why aren't petrol stations targets esp in the UK?
    Ponder on that?

There are so many serious issues here, it's truly mind blowing.
Having spent several years living in the Middle East and working with both Sunni and Shia Muslims, I can honestly say that the vast vast majority of them were the most peaceful, generous and fantastic people I have ever met.
    The two key issues here for me are;
    1. Education is not separated from Religion in these countries. Coming from Ireland, I have seen first hand the devastating affect of state run religious schooling. It's very difficult to have a moderate balanced view in these circumstances. Credit to the vast majority of Muslims who have managed to see the bigger picture.
    2. Although the rest of the world are now suffering the circumstances of an appallingly inadequate American foreign policy, this has to be seen (IMO) as a Muslim problem. At some stage the moderate, righteous and progressive thinking Muslims have to sort out their own sh1te. Any action from the Western world is only fuelling fundamentalist ideology and encouraging the next extremist generation. The onus has to be on the more moderate Muslim countries to sort this out. This is destroying their image and very much creating a them and us. Too many influential Muslim government and religious leaders are standing idyl by and allowing their religion to be dragged into the dirt. I don't see enough rhetoric, rallies, demonstrations etc by the peace loving Muslims saying enough is enough.
That's my message. Sort you're own sh1te out.

    And by the way........
Anybody who thinks that these atrocities are avoidable or just down to poor Intel or security needs their head examined. It's beyond easy to plan and execute these type of operations and it really doesn't matter how much resources a government throws at security. If a terrorist cell is professional enough, they will succeed. England had/has the best security services available and yet for decades the IRA made them chase shadows. The current threat is potentially far more serious. Sadly, I think we're going to see much more of this in the coming years.

You have no idea how many attacks have been defeated, if any so that is not a great way to defend the intelligence service.
Perhaps we prevented 1 attack or 100 who knows! All we know are the ones that happened.

Some of us need to go to work mate!

I thought you were referring to the present day when you talked about the UK having the most terrorist attacks. Clearly we have suffered many, many attacks when you look back historically, with Irish extremists responsible for a large number.

In recent times the UK are way down the list of Countries who have suffered the most terrorist attacks and that is the point I was alluding to.

With regards for your contempt for the British security services, I can only assume that you are speaking out of total ignorance.
The British security services are among the best in the World and our Special Forces are widely regarded to be the best that there is. MI5 and MI6, along with GCHQ do rather mistrust the security services of many of our European allies and share an awful lot of Intelligence with the US, Canada, New Zealand and Australia.

But Dt actually thinks that we in the West are worse in the things that we do compared to these things.Totally mind-numbing.

You thought wrong!, Contempt, absolutely not, please not try to justify your comments by making things up. Your view of the British Security services are only what you read in the Sun, the truth is you have no idea, just what you read and what you like to be real. By the way they may well be the "best in the world, but there is no way you can prove that!

    As far as recent:

Supt Mark McEwan said that from September 2014 there had been 15 bomb incidents in the Derry City and Strabane District council area.
