It´s probably too much to ask
But here on my birthday eve,
If we could triumph in our tough away task
It might help us all just believe
And give us the edge for a day
Over our two rivals from up north,
Who, if they should manage a draw when they play
Would then help us to sally forth
Or at least that has to be the plan
If you are of a yellow and green hue,
No doubt for a striped red or black jersey fan
They´d have quite another point of view
But with all the ifs and buts here
Our way ahead is still unsure,
With defeat today, it still isn´t clear
But harder then to find a cure
A ´must win´ in those two home games
When Geordies and Wearsiders come,
Has to be the very least of all our aims
To keep banging our Premier League drum.
