So many inaccuracies, I barely know where to start. We've done sovereignty, which it's clear the Brexit camp bleat on about but do not understand, nor do they understand how little the current situation would change in that respect were we to vote out. My ONLY comment on house prices was in response to a post by Col saying it would happen, and I said it would be disastrous for the vast majority of people if it happens. Please read posts in context, it stops you looking dumb. And as for 'phobias' look back through ALL my posts on here, and you'll see time and time again that I have said that the fear mongering campaigns are wrong and that people should vote with knowledge, not fear. And shouldn't resort to trying to scare the opposite side, as Brexit have done all along.
In your post # 293 you stated: "As someone with a house and a mortgage, I would definitely not want either of these things to happen. If the price of an exit is my losing 150k of the value of my house, and it costing me more each month to own, then an Exit vote would be a disaster - not just for me, but for pretty much everyone." This clearly related specifically to your own circumstances, and your claim now that you only made a general comment about the majority of people is simply untrue. I'm getting tired of your personal abuse, Chaz. In the space of a few posts, you have called me dumb twice, childish and speaking drivel - a reaction, apparently, to the fact that I ridiculed the Prime Minister over the EU. If you have points to make about the debate make them, but cut out the abuse...
This is not related to "tax rates" per se, but EU rules on which items are categorised for which levels of VAT. VAT is one tax where I believe there is harmonisation of rates and VAT categories across the EU.
the thought of Labour rubbing their hands, itching at the bit to fk everything up again, fills me with deep foreboding
it's not Brexit that claim 2,000,000-4,000,000 jobs will be lost, that the day after we depart the EU Germany will invade France. You've got some gall coming out with the cobblers you keep spouting. On the European gravy train by any chance?
If you think I give a flying **** about Labour, or any other political party, you are sadly mistaken sir. I just love the way Chaz can get into a fight with anyone, even his natural allies. And watching Goldie get closer to an aneurysm (which I sincerely hope won't happen) with every EU based post is fascinating. But you are right, seeing the Tories **** themselves over when the goal is open for them to dominate for a generation, is a great blood sport too.
it wasn't a dig at you to be fair, the thought of Corbyn and his cronies being in power is just too much to bare tbh
I completely agree. His stiff manner leads people to believe that he is just another "stuck up Tory", but in fact he has always given me the impression that he is one of the more sincere politicians who actually believed in what he was trying to achieve. His resignation over the terrible policies of the Tories concerning the disabled (among other bad policies of late) only supports that view imo.
Couldn't see IDS getting the leadership again, but he's probably looking for a top job under Johnson. He's certainly done Boris a favour by damaging Osbourne.
He helped formulate the policies regarding the disabled Col. This is not an honourable resignation, it's pure cynical manoeuvring.
Chaz, perhaps you could answer some serious question for me, without if at all possible, getting all personal and confrontational? Did you think that the UK should have joined the Euro when the opportunity arose? Also, do you you think that the Euro is a good idea for Europe and that the UK should be a part of it as soon as possible? Lastly, imo, the EU is heading towards closer and closer political union, (which is the biggest single threat to our sovereignty imo and the main reason I will be voting to leave) until it ultimately becomes a federal state with one army, one currency, one Government etc. Do you support this?
He was the architect of most of those policies Col. His resignation is a completely hypocritical hissy fit, and all to do with the referendum, he knew he would be sacked soon anyway due to the close to the bone comments he has already made implicitly about Cameron and Osborne and their competence. He may well be sincere in what he was trying to do to/for the disabled, but it certainly hasn't been appreciated by the recipients from what I can see.
Come on mate. You know as well as I do that members of the Government are required to support policies. Were you privy to all the discussions and whether IDS actually was in favour of everything? I would imagine that there are SOME savings to be made in ALL areas of welfare and I expect he was trying to do this. I believe his was an honourable resignation, but I am also becoming more and more disillusioned with this Government and their handling of the less well off.
I'd go as far to say the damage done to the Tories over Brexit could be terminal. Call me Dave has done a fantastic job in destroying the party
