I hate Joey Barton with a passion, but you have to say he has a point. Mills reckons he's qualified as a pundit because he's watched football for the past ten years! http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/p03mzfgg
I thought this topic was about Barton Mills, where my Grandparents lived for a few years in the '50s. Cannot see what Mills brings to football in ANY capacity at all. He is akin to a leech, feeding of his betters, which is practically everyone.
I think Mills' point was about being qualified to front a team developing young players based on his experience of watching youth games 3 to 4 times a week and training his own kids. Mill's therefore is highly qualified to do this job, just as I am of being a F1 driver, based on my driving experience and awesome cornering. Talk about jobs for the boys.
In general pundits are a total waste of time and I cannot think of one that is enlightening to listen to. Hansen years ago was possibly the best of them.See ILD's recent thread, says it all really.
Whilst I agree that he is a bellend of the highest order, in his defence he has had a career in football, presumably receiving training from youth to 1st team level from a range of the best coaches around during that time. It doesn't make him a good coach, not by anymeans and given what a knob he appears it's unlikely that he has been able to take the best of what he has observed from each coach to form his own style. But it is possible. When was the last time you were in a car observing death defying ado behind the wheel. Mrs China a bit of a racer? possibly every suicide death pilot taxi driver? That said does he have any coaching badges? He's still a twat! Bah!
