Look away now Mr Ted. http://www.getwestlondon.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/qpr-boss-admits-former-arsenal-11052051 Jay Emmanuel-Thomas looks set for an early QPR exit after Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink admitted the striker doesn’t fit into his plans. The Rs gaffer told an assembled audience of Rangers fans last night the man signed on a free from Bristol Cityin the summer is surplus to current requirements. As a result, the former Arsenal forwardwas loaned out to MK Dons at the beginning of last month to recoup part of his wages on a three-year deal while getting game time rather than twiddling his thumbs on match day, according to the gaffer. JET, as known thanks to his initials, has made 15 appearances for Rangers this season scoring five times including a brace that beat Bolton 4-3 in October. His second dramatic Roy-of-the-Rovers goal that sunk the Trotters came in the final minute. k now has Conor Washington and Sebastian Polter vying for the out-and-out striker’s role, and hinted JET might not be around much longer. “Jay Emmanuel Thomas didn’t fit in my plans, and we decided to loan him out and get as much money as possible back for the club while also getting him game time,” Hasselbaink made plain to fans and www.qpr.co.uk
I'm not sure that a fans's meeting is the right place for a manager to offer these views and hope that this conversation had been held with JET previously. However, IMO the sentiments behind the storyline are another reason to be grateful that we appointed JFH!
He's obviously not the right sort, hasn't settled anywhere so my guess is (and all we can do is guess) that he is toxic in the dressing room and in his relationships with managers and coaches.
He was pretty good for a few games when Austin was injured in the autumn and showed good technical ability, but wasn't good enough otherwise. Doesn't mean there is anything toxic about him, but perhaps he can't maintain the fitness levels and/or concentration to do the kind of job JFH wants, or Ramsey and Colin before him.
I've seen the forum video and it didn't come across as anything controversial, the emphasis was as much on being fair to the player and getting him game time as it was to do with any financial gain for the club. If JET doesn't know his future with QPR is limited he really needs some new advisors.
How it came over to me too. But then they'd probably manage to put it over that way anyway If they wanted to, though I doubt that was necessary myself.
3 year contract and who the **** will want him if we don't? What odds he'll do a Traore and be drawing a wage in 2018. Poor recruitment.
Bristol City fans still love him, but he suited them before. However, if you want to play a high tempo pressing game then he does not fit the bill.
The fact Bristol City let him go should have said it all, f*ck knows what Ramsey saw in him as his track record suggested he was a luxury...
On a free on low wages it was worth a punt on a one year deal as the guy obviously has ability. Three years is ludicrous.
