Rumours are suggesting we could be seeing the arrival of even Ammar Jemal or Kaspars Gorkss, maybe both!

Just wanted to gauge who you prefer and who you think would be a better addition.

Personally I'd prefer Jemal. He played in the champions league versus spurs so obviously is of top quality and at only 24/25 years old he as the chance to improve further.

Gorkss was supposedly QPR's best defender last year, but I have never heard of him before, why wasn't there more of a deal made about him? Also 29 so getting on a bit, but does have vast experience at this level and got QPR promoted last term.

I'd have to say Jemal. I can't understand why QPR would want to let Gorkss leave, he was one of their best defenders last season - it worries me that there is an underlying factor like his attitude or something?!

both, Ammar Jemal and Kaspars Gorkss would be good,
then loan out one CB (seaborne or martin).

QPR signed Gabbidon last week, who has Premiership experience from his time with West Ham. Despite him being rubbish (in my opinion), they obviously value that top flight experience over what Gorkss can offer. I completely disagree, but that's their decision.

Gabbidon is an awful player I can't understand why any club would want him, especially QPR with all their billions. Him being pro gives us all hope.

Gorkss worries me, he's ageing and relatively unheard of till now. I'd like to see what Jemal can offer.

I don't see why that's relevant. It was a qualifying game. All countries across Europe have X amount of places in the Champions League qualifying. Those that get there through their domestic league position are not neccessarily amongst the top 50 or 60 sides in Europe, they're just one of the best sides in their domestic league.

Gorkss has played UEFA Cup football against Newcastle, but I'm not taking that into consideration either.

There are many, many players all across Europe that have some sort of european experience. And many of them, I wouldn't want to go anywhere near.

(I'm not saying this guy isn't a top defender. He's sounds potentially quite exciting - young and quick. Just that his CL experience shouldn't count for much)

I agree. David Conolly played in the 2002 World Cup, yet he has been playing in League 1 for last two years. Not that i'm having a go at him, I think he's a good player. Just also making a point that CL, UEFA cup, international, it doesn't mean a lot really.

Never seen weither play, so can't comment.

As for "ageing abit" at 29..... FFS. Poster must have been 11. 29 is approaching his prime.

Edited to say that I will concede that 29 is older than 24/25:emoticon-0100-smile

Agree when it comes to Jemal. I too had never heard of him before.

But Gorkss has been on TV many times, both with QPR and Blackpool. He's even played against us before.

If they cared about attitude, they wouldn't want Puncheon.

Yeah, but do you really think they know that much about his problems here? QPR's main contact will be Puncheon's agent and I can imagine him feeding them all sorts about how he's a great player and how hard done by he has been etc. Just like he's been telling the press!

A mate of mine who is a QPR fan raved about Gorkss last season,so sounds like he would be a good signing and 29 is hardly over the top.
Jemal also sounds quite handy too, so i would welcome either of them.

I heard from a Bournemouth mate that Martin is going out on loan to them when the new CB is here. They wanted Seaborne but was told they could have Martin. Not sure how true this is. Who ever does go out on loan, I hope it is with the understanding that they play as many games as possible.

Qpr fan in peace..... Kaspar Gorkss is quality, I honestly have no idea why we would be looking to offload, especially to get a player like Puncheon who tbh would be lucky to start 3 games for us next season.

Gorkss is Latvia National team captain, has been our best defender for the last 3 season and was key to us winning the league last year. As for his attitude? lol... An absolute diamond geezer who'd run through walls for his team, If the Qpr management have a complete labotomy and this deal goes ahead you will have one of the top 3 defenders in the league on your books.

    Good luck for the season.

^ Nice words from someone who has seen him play regularly. Would be interesting to see who the other two top three defenders are? Well other one, because surely Fonte is in there!
