    I refer you to Goldie's post (#248).

I shouldn't have jumped in, as we all end up saying the same thing over and over. I don't like the idea of a European super-state. From what you have just posted, you are in favour of it. As it happens, I would probably vote for English independence too, although I quite like the Union, England often gets a raw deal imo.

I believe that, if I vote to leave the EU and Brexit wins, we will be further away from ever having to be part of such a thing.

    In your opinion.
My idea of sovereignty doesn't match your idea of sovereignty, in much the same way that I'm pretty sure my idea of religion doesn't match your idea of religion. We have different opinions.

Try to get your head around this concept.

In principle I would be in favour of a United States of Europe if I thought it would deliver benefits across Europe and beyond. Not convinced that is the case at the moment. Still not convinced that the UK is the right fit for the EU, and this campaign isn't helping. It's a tallest dwarf competition at the moment.

OK - without the need to get all arsey about it - explain to me what you believe sovereignty actually means, and how being an ex-member of the EU is going to make that any more a reality than it is now.

But the EU representatives ARE elected - just not all by the UK. Nobody is an MEP without being elected to the job. Next?

You only need to look at the history of the Countries in the EU prior to its formation, full of major catastrophic wars, compared to the relatively peaceful times since, to see that it has delivered the greatest benefit it could ever give Europe, Peace. That huge improvement in Europe is mirrored globally.

If you don't vote in the EU Elections, you should forfeit your right to complain about the EU. I think I need to talk to someone who actually engages in the process now, not someone who sits on his hands and whines....

Crux of the matter really, forget about trade, immigration, etc it will come down to the people of this country deciding if they would be better off determining the future direction and identity of THEIR country or ceding control to foreign powers, France & Germany in effect.

Final nail in the coffin for what is left of British Farming

Having to buy in everything means price rises for food IMO and see how much your chicken nuggets go up then

Chaz you really are quite painful.
I COULD have written exactly the same as Goldie, but it was easier to refer you to what he posted.
You just can't stand anyone having a different opinion to you can you?

You could have told me what YOU thought, not just picked someone else's brain. I was after YOUR opinion, not his. I still have no clue what YOU think.

The Common Market delivered peace. Expanding the EU exponentially and forcing through political union risks losing it

Bloody hell, mate. I replied to your post minutes after you put it up, because it was clear you didn't understand what sovereignty was at stake. I didn't give Col a chance to reply first, and in hindsight, it was my mistake, I should have

But it's been expanding for decades and we still have Peace within. The UK should Stay in, help preserve Peace, and work to make it better for all imo.
