Go back just one week and you'll see that I, and many others on here, instantly said that Moreno's dickheaded backheel tackle on Aguero was a stonewall pen, even though there's no doubt Augero simply saw his outstretched leg and ran into it with an oblliglatory fall. Dive'? No. Exaggeration? Probably. Still a pen though, as it was careless and reckless.
Never done judo, I suspect. The height and weight running at speed makes it all the more likely you'll lose balance. And, btw, why should you stay on your feet anyway? Has it become the equivalent of walking before the decision in an lbw decision?
Because in the rules you posted it mentions "trip" not making contact, that is why people throw themselves to the ground, to make it seem like a trip (foul)
It also mentions making a reckless and careless tackle. You don't just have to trip. Read the rules again.
says who? Any uncontrolled tackle could cause harm or trip/impede a player, whether contact with legs, feet, elbows, whatever (even the opponent's shirt if you include Young's trapeze act with QPR referred to earlier).
It is why those specific words are used, by that phrasing a player does not have to make contact to commit a foul, he only needs to act in a reckless/careless way which could endanger the other player.

I was just looking for the bit where 'reckless and careless' necessary has to endanger an opponent. Doesn't seem to be in there.
That's because you are reading basic/bare rules. Refs are given full interpretations of each rule and it's wording. Ever wondered why they see things different to supporters? I used to know a ref (old division 2 and 3 only) and he once shown me the book/pamphlet of interpretations, it was over an inch thick. Find me the rule that says contact is a foul so you should go down to let the ref know.
