Cheers for the heads up, I've had a wee nibble at 20/1. Tend to avoid betting in the handicaps antepost but he's a horse I've liked from his bumper days and I do recall him getting some tender handling recent enough, ahem, say no more...

Speaking of each-way value on day 1, I've had to throw a few quid the way of Sizing John 16/1 for the Arkle with Hills. I really liked him for the JLT thinking they'd want to avoid Douvan again but seems they want another view of his backside. Each-way for top 3, and I can see more finishing behind him than in front and with maybe only 7 or 8 lining up, he should hit a place.

Agreed on both counts Beefy. (Is that a first for us?!)

I too saw the Killer Crow news and immediately my thoughts were about the tender and puzzling handicap runs in Ireland. He strikes me as one who could improve a bundle for nice ground.

I really like Sizing John as a chaser- he ran very well behind Douvan in the Supreme last year and is about as rock solid a jumper as I have see. all season. Great chance of placing.

So according to the BetBright preview, Rich Ricci was there and shared some thoughts.

He said Min was doing better than Vautour but not Douvan, but that he is warming to him after a piece of work was good.

Apparently Vautour not working well but Gold Cup is only target. If he isn't right, he doesn't run anywhere. He apparently only started working right 4 days before the festival last year.

He states that Pont Alexandre goes for the RSA but he is shorter for the 4 miler on the exchanges! Is he trying to mis-sell again <laugh>

Black Hercules is shortest for the JLT by the way- utterly bonkers <yikes>

Here is a snippet from the Betbright preview....

Triumph - Clan Des Obeaux worked all over Dodging Bullets this morning says STD

Interesting he has the speed to work with Dodging Bullets. If i remember right Schofield is riding Zubayr and STD has choice of CDO or Connetable.

Clan Des Obeaux worked over the entire field LTO until when it mattered- found very little after travelling into the race. Zubayr much more a Triumph horse.

Agreed. Could be a lovely bit to be made laying him in running as they enter the hill possibly.

Considering Zubayr was supposedly not fully ready and will come on heaps for a run fitness wise, he remains the one I would be currently siding with. Not sure if Gibralfaro was sound or what after that race but that most definitely wasn't his true running either but a massvie concern now so close to race time. I can't warm to Ivanovich Gorbatov at all but the better ground will help him if it is good to soft.

Rumours going round Twitter last night that all is not well with Vautour and will most likely be left at home! Another great shame if these turn out to be true

Not rumours Wooly, Ricci said as much in an interview. He isnt working with any sparkle. Probably just trying to eke out a price from some mugs on Betfair!

I'm absolutely loving the Paddy Power Cheltenham TV and radio ad. 'Surely this offer doesn't apply to the riff-raff?!?', 'what even the great unwashed?!?'. Award winning stuff, methinks.

And allow me to confirm that said filly is no relative of mine.

Wait lads. That will be bigger on the day. I've not seen a panel that have liked his price. Every bookie in the country will take him on.

Yorkhill absolutely hammered in the betting. Halved in price on the exchanges.

Biggest worry I'd have if I'd backed Min (which I've not) is that it's even a question.
