Bloody nightnurse isn't working :(

Pops has summed up everything pretty well. I was going to jack this modding in Friday afternoon. Trying to keep an eye on what was going on between meetings and other stuff at work is just too much of a distraction at times. This place is supposed to be about banter, not a chore.

As Diddles said, if others want the gig I'm happy to step aside.

How the hell the supermods find time to manage all of the forums is beyond me.

This is the best set of mods since i've been on here. anyone who disagrees can **** off and find another forum. Ball it out or back off and take a breath before returning for more.

Hew man. Me, Syd and Gonads were by far the best. That trio really didnt give a **** and chaos was encouraged<laugh>.

The more the merrier.

Nah being serious, this is a good set of mods. All this reporting is pathetic, especially as the main complainent (if i have it correct) is one of the biggest piss takers on the board.

Cant remember her name. She ****ing hated me. She'd gan in strop and i'd just ask her if i could shag her. Then she'd gan mental.

Syd couldn't handle it, so banned me for a week. Never went back.

Not wise, realistic. Every mod in every message board on the net all has the same **** to deal with, moaning about it won't achieve anything, complaints and reports are nature of the beast. It will always happen, as sure as they'll be wums and arguments. Setting up a protocol to deal with it in a way that's centres around communication and transparency(not banning) is imo the best way for the mods to have a quite life themselves and to make everyone happy. One thing is for certain, banning or being seen not to be doing anything are the most likely ways to get people kicking off at the 'establishment'.

The communication off my incident with bart was much improved. It shouldn't have got to that stage but it did and was I happier with the communication. Far cry from the ignorant cheeky way Sid tried to deal with an incident. Where he took the side of somebody who was repeatedly attacking me off the word of a few mags. He didn't look at the incident properly, he didn't ask for my side. He treated me like a **** so a treated him like one back.

Ultimately if somebody hits the report button, I'd be messaging, first to acknowledge it then to get to the bottom of the complaint in a two line communication, then talk to the 'perpetrator' and get it sorted like human beings. There's a wonderful function where you can have 3,4,5 way pms, it's not hard to get it off the board if it's upsetting people.

It's a split forum between those who love chaos and those who hate it.Communication is the only way to keep everyone happy.

Trying to see it from multiple angles here, not just from my own perspective(I love chaos). Keeping everyone happy is tough, but disregarding completely people right's to crave a bit of peace from arguments or harassment will just send posters running for the hills. We want more posters not less. Just trying to see it from all sides.

The Bart thing was delt with much better cheers fella, you lightening the mood and Blunham getting in touch. But I still don't know what's happened on bart's end, if you've spoken to him or not, I'm none the wiser. Is his attacks of poster going to continue? Should I be expecting an attack on other threads? Don't know, no transparency. I've not got a clue if it's resolved or not. I'm ok with it as my conduct throughout that was timed and not built on angry reaction(got a bit more inventive than I'd intended with the drink which probably helpped you make light of it), but if it was of anger, I wouldn't know whats going on and it would probably fuel the fire. these are things that will make people kick off. Not a dig Pops, just trying to help you get the quite life you want. You'll never escape complaints though, never ever. As longs as there's message boards mods will get them. You should write(or rewrite) some protocols, Step by step procedures on how to deal with incidents that both give you an easy life and satisfies your posters.

I was a mod once and can fully appreciate what you are saying mate. My advise is **** em, some people will just never be happy and no matter what you do, you will never please everyone.

We're all different mate and we all have different views on how this board should be run, but i rarely see those whining twats put their hands up to volunteer to be a mod. The board is OK Pops, not perfect but by and large it's run ok so just crack on and keep doing what you are doing.
