I wonder if the Mousers are wetting their knickers as much as the media at the prospect of Pool v United in the Europa.

Given the longstanding love and brotherhood that exists between them, I'd say they were both 'up for it'

Aren't they the only team LVG can beat? Like Jordan (sorry, should say Ulrika Johnson) isn't it 4 from 4?

Mousers need to get a proper goal keeper, how bad was their goalie yesterday? Jeez, Gomez at his worst was better.

Instead they gave Mignolet a five-year contract extension.

He wouldn't get on our bench, never mind our wages.
I assume that you're actually talking about the amount. It's supposedly £60k pw, as it leaked last week.

Tottenham players who are actually on £60k a week or above:
    Hugo Lloris
    Harry Kane
    Christian Eriksen
    Erik Lamela

I thought half term was last week, so there's no excuse for posters with the same level of comprehension of mathematics as a toddler to our board to spout bollocks.

Yeah that what said, he's on penny's, the football equivalent of minimum wage if you will so selling him won't be too difficult, although I think the plan was to keep as back up to who ever klopp replaces him with.

Nobody else is going to pay him £60k pw. It's not a plan to keep him, it's an unfortunate fact that you have to.
Don't worry though, I'm sure that you've got someone great lined up to replace him as your first choice.
Brad Guzan, maybe? He's getting a lot of practice this season.

Don't be silly, 60k is not a lot for a club to pay these days not by a long stretch. You'd have to ask klopp who he has in mind, whoever it is he can't be as error prone as migs at crucial moments.

If we sell him then you will have to accept your **** up, if we don't he's back up on minimum wage :)

The average PL wage is actually closer to £40k per week and in the average club, the goalkeeper tends to be one of the lowest earners, especially the reserve goalie (even Caballero at City is only on around 28k. Michel Vorm gets closer to 25k). So signing a ****e keeper to a 5 year contract as one of the highest paid goalkeepers in the division was possibly the dumbest thing you could've done as he will now be as hard to shift as chewing gum on the shoe in mid summer and should be stick around, you'll have probably the best paid #2 in the division with the consequence that your new #1 will arrive and justifiably demand that he be paid significantly more, which in turn will lead to you having the best paid goalkeepers on the planet.

It's like a vaudeville sketch it really is.

    To put this into context...
Lloris is on a reported £80k per week and he is regarded as one of the best keepers in the world and captains the France national team
Mignolet, on the other hand, isn't regarded as one of the best goalkeepers in the world nor is he first-choice for Belgium

That's a good use of the best part of quarter of a million quid a month!

I knew Spurs were a club going places but today was an eye opener. Great set of lads, amazing facilities and a hugely impressive manager.

And another Mouser (albeit this damaged former footballer and awful pundit is in fact Welsh) pays homage to Spurs and Mr Pochettino. I wonder if he apologised for diving in 2002? Nah, I'd doubt it.

They keep on coming. This time it's 'Live 4 Liverpool', a fan website, extolling the virtues of Spurs to the uneducated mouser:

"Regardless of what happens for the rest of this season, Klopp should look to Mauricio Pochettino’s Tottenham Hotspur for inspiration and guidance when preparing his new-look Liverpool side for next season.

After they lost to Chelsea in the League Cup final last season, Pochettino guided his squad of players, who he had not enjoyed much time to shape and were still adapting to his methods and demands, to a respectable finish in the Premier League, before kicking on this season.

Now they stand a great chance of winning their first league title for 55 years.

Furthermore, their high-pressing game, tight defence and clinical finishing is exactly the type of blueprint Klopp is seeking to apply at Anfield, and, as with Pochettino, on a budget smaller than Manchester City, Manchester United, Chelsea and Arsenal.

Spurs look certain for a top four finish, ensuring a return of Champions League football to White Hart Lane, and Pochettino will have enjoyed a brilliant two seasons building up the North London side into an elite force in England again post-Gareth Bale.

Finally, both Pochettino and Klopp are happy to incorporate youth, with Harry Kane and Dele Alli two outstanding examples for Tottenham, while Klopp has already tried out a number of youngsters in cup games to see if any can be part of the first-team squad for next season, while the likes of Emre Can and Divock Origi continue to develop through regular game-time.

Klopp could do a lot worse then examine Pochettino and Tottenham ahead of his first full season in charge of Liverpool."

Unless Poch actually wins the title with Spurs he'll only match(at best)Buck Rodgers 2nd place finish.

The same Rodgers some "uneducated" Spurs fans on here regularly slated.<whistle>

But if Leicester don't win it I hope its Spurs that do.<ok>
