Shocking to hear that Sunderland may well have been aware about Adam Johnson and what he had done before this went to court.

Should the club now face punishment, a fine, a point deduction?

Personally I think that any club involved with child abuse should be punished as harshly as possible.

Penn State were found guilty in the states and were hit with a $60m fine, 4 year ban, 5 year probation and had all their trophies taken off them from when the abuse occurred.

A similar ban would be worthy for Sunderland or any other club involved with child abuse.

Totally agree BIG time, Medro. When I heard from the JOCKying press packthat Sunderland KNEW of the abuse of the child, I was shocked.

However I am open to full investigations into clubs who are suspected of having been involved in child abuse

I knpw who you mean but I wouldn't like to name names in case of future prosecution. It's alleged one Scottish player with Swedish leanings, first name Charles, was pumping underage rent boys. His manager, a future Scotland manager knew and helped cover it up whilst continuing to play this man as his captain. The same club also covered up one of their youth coaches indiscretions with children, I won't name him but he's since been liquidated and this club also employed Jim Torbet before he set up Celtic boys club.

It's impossible to punish this club now as they no longer exist but the shame of it should be known by all and those still alive should face a police investigation.
