Does anybody know this guy? If so, please tell him I'm glad he's not coming back to the club as we don't need any attention seeking whores like him at the ground, there's enough drama going on already ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ THE TELEGRAPH Sunderland fans angered after court hears club picked Adam Johnson despite knowing he would plead guilty But Sunderland fan Ian Cooper, who has written to the club demanding an explanation for the decision to continue to play Johnson, still feels they misled the supporters, despite their denials. He said: "I've spoken to a few Sunderland fans, and we all agree he shouldn't have played. I know it's innocent until proven guilty and the club claim they did not know he would plead guilty and could not make a judgement. But I find it difficult to believe they had access to the police interviews but did not read them. He admitted what he had done in his first police interview. "It was certainly claimed in court, that Ms Bryne knew about the messages and that Johnson told her everything. If that's true, it's disgraceful. "I think they decided they needed him on the pitch because he's such an important player. This is the final straw for me with the club. It's symptomatic of the way football has gone. There is so much money involved." One woman who supports Sunderland, who asked for her name to be withheld for fear of abuse, said: "I thought: 'Surely the club must know something we don't - that his not guilty, they wouldn't risk playing him or our reputation as a football club'. "Johnson should get what he deserves same as any person would get. He has fooled every Sunderland supporter and earned £3 million in doing so. I just feel sorry for the girl in question and his daughter."
And this is what the Daily Mail is running with.... Video emerges of Sunderland fans backing Adam Johnson after his arrest with sick chant: 'He s**** who he wants' Video online shows fans inside rivals stadium singing in support of player It comes as revellers on a stag do dressed up as him and schoolgirls The FA have reportedly ordered his pictures be removed from Wembley But a video filmed in the concourse of Hull's KC Stadium shows fans chanting 'He s**** who he wants' and 'he's done nothing wrong'. The video, which was posted on YouTube, drew an angry response from other fans. One viewer wrote: 'Chanting about how Johnson can "s*** who he wants"... classy fans?
To be honest it's a fair cop on both counts. If the club knew what he'd done and continued to play him then I'm ashamed of them and they have a lot of explaining to do. And the fools who dressed up and sang that are the kind of idiots I want nothing to do with. Banter is one thing but that is just messed up.
Where do I start with that... The club didn't know what Johnson had done, they released a statement today telling us all. It's time to believe and back the club, or walk away if you don't, imo. This prick has chose to walk, so let him go. I don't want anything to do with the fools who dressed up either.... Because they were Middlesboro supporters. There's been one time our supporters have acted disgracefully over this and that was at Hull. That is where some of the sick ****ers were singing 'he shags who he want's' totally and utterly unacceptable, they have disgraced the club.
I'm just going off what you posted, it sounded like it was Sunderland fans both dressing up and chanting. I'm not sure I do believe the club but I certainly don't blame them for denying everything it's the only sensible thing to do. I won't be walking away from anything and I never will but I can't say I'm fully behind the club on this one.
Who gave this Ian Cooper the right to speak on behalf of all SAFC fans? Bet he walked out on 80 mins the other night (if he was even there), the prick.
No. The club released a statement saying only that they didn't know that he was going to plead guilty. That is very different from not having had sight of all of the messages to the girl (asking her age, asking for naked pictures,"can't wait to get your jeans off" etc). This is what Johnson's barrister claimed in court, and I find it hard to believe that a barrister would perjure himself and so risk his freedom and career if the club called him out on it. They haven't done that. Read between the lines. They carefully worded their statement and didn't refute the claims that they had seen the messages, but merely said that they didn't know that he was going to plead guilty. I will always support the team, but I am disgusted with the way that Byrne in particular has failed to deal with a kiddy fiddler in the club.
Not me mate. As long as it stays civil and sensible I don`t see a problem. It`s in all the news and to me it`s a valid point for discussion. Obviously it will need to be watched as there`s bound to be foreign wums waiting to chime in and amuse themselves. edit: "stays civil and sensible" - who am I kidding?
Right, well I'm throwing all my weight and support behind the club. I'm going to support them over this, they've done everything right. Sacked him at the first opportunity and released a statement within half an hour of the court case finishing. Seems like some of our 'supporters' want to prolong the issue for the club. Thanks Ian Cooper and your likes for doing this to the club at a critical time in our relegation battle. Call yourselves supporters? **** off!
This is the way I see it. Johnson's lawyer said we knew he'd kissed the girl. The club has had two weeks to mull it over and come up with a statement, and at no point in that statement does it deny the claims. Just a load of smoke and mirrors defending ourselves over accusations which were never even made. This statement has convinced me utterly that Byrne knew what he'd done from that meeting in May. I still support the team obviously, my love for the club hasn't changed at all, it just leaves a bit of a bad taste is all.
Some fans are like dogs with bones, unfortunately, who are determined to make their voices heard and to spread the negativity, and the possibility that the club might (just might) have done or said something that isn't 100% perfect, to them I can't see any way in the world that S.A.F.C. wouldn't have done anything other than what's 100% legally correct, but I'm thinking that there must be someone, somewhere, within the club, that knows more then they're letting on (maybe one of his 'friends') even though this could be just in a little bit more detail (not enough to know that he was guilty of what turned out to be a very serious offence) than us Having said that, these boney people, even though we might not agree with the way that they've gone about it, have a right to express their opinions, too
Of course, freedom of speech, democracy etc... Why do these 'supporters' need to make it public what they are doing? He had wrote to the club for an explanation, why couldn't he keep it 'in house'? These aren't supporters for me, not doing what they are doing at a critical time in our season. It's beyond madness.
Negativity spreads far more quickly than positivity, unfortunately, and these 'supporters' . . . . no, people, will probably be 'chuffed as muck' that their negativity has spread, and 'grabbed the headlines' like it has
I remember our fans singing "He sh@gs who he wants" about Titus Bramble. I thought it was stupid. Others thought it was funny The club need to put up or shut up re Johnson. We need to get him to prove the accusations he has made under oath. If he can't then they have to clear the name of the football club
They've released a statement, mate. Why do we have to prolong this at a critical time in the season. He's going to jail, he isn't our player. Move the **** on.
I wouldn`t believe a word he said mate, under oath or not. He`s lied from start to finish. I gave Byrne & Co the benefit of the doubt but I must admit to having concerns as to exactly how much she did know.
