New Hants signing to announced at 8am tomorrow. Have to say, I have no info on this one at all. As a total punt, I would suggest either Watson or Clarke, on the basis that we still have a slot open for a second overseas player, both have strong links to us, neither will be playing test cricket, and neither have yet been signed up to a county. Plus in Watson's case, it's common knowledge that we discussed with him over the winter about him joining us this season.

But hey, it's possibly just me living in dream land.

Cricinfo have reported that Watson isn't happening.

Just checking some progress on this PC and I wandered off to the news to find that NZ cricketing legend Martin Crowe has succumbed to his illness. When I lived in NZ he was the king of cricket down there, amongst a proud family of cricketing Crowes, including older brother Jeff. Also a close cousin to actor Russell:

Just read about it. Very sad. Martin Crowe was a great player and helped bring the Kiwis up from also-rans to a genuine international cricketing side able to compete with the best. RIP - another one gone too soon ........ :emoticon-0101-sadsm

Also remembered fondly as a Somerset player of course.

RIP Martin <rose>

Sad but at least he had a full playing career and some kind of life. Phil Hughes, Tom Maynard and Matt Hobden had virtually their whole careers ahead of them.
