Really? Neither really threw anything and when they did nothing landed other than on the others gloves or fresh air. So how does Frampton get them rounds just because he walked forward? I'm not making a case to say Quigg won them I'm saying neither won them so have to call it even
 
Ron, regarding the comment about the wrong man winning my statement was probably in response to the highlighted part:

I was merely pointing out there was no controversy with Quigg getting the nod from a judge. Both Carl Froch and Jim Watt who were both ringside had it a draw so I'm in good company. If I've scored it a draw and Quigg has won then I'm not going to see anything wrong in that if its so close. But you pick apart what people say so it fits to your thinking if you want. I'm off to bed

Frampton won comfortably on the cards-a strange split decision!In a way the fight leaves more questions than answers because of how late Quigg left his effort, but that's his own problem. Frampton called it right when he said Quigg would be cagey early on under the pressure.

I went into the fight feeling like Frampton had the better skill set but that Quigg was stronger at the weight down the line, and that kinda bared out true but with an argument that we are still none the wiser that one is much better than the other.

To me though, I think Frampton needs to go up a division so a rematch is unlikely.

Best man won, but it was so cagey that I'd like to see a rematch in Belfast.

Interesting to see what's next! Well done to both fighters.

If they have a re-match I'll be "backing" Quigg. Simply because he is the tougher, harder puncher, can take a punch and is very efficient (doesn't waste too many punches). Frampton looks classier and throws more punches, but he wouldn't have lasted many more rounds imo. I think Quigg will get after him from the first round and make Frampton have to fight from the start. There will be no points decision to dispute in a re-match. That's why I doubt there will be one. It's not in Frampton's interest.

For the moment, it doesn't look like the rematch is going to happen. Frampton may have to give up one of the belts as the IBF have ordered him to fight Shingo Wake, and the WBA will want him to fight Guillermo Rigondeaux. Wake has been waiting a while now, so he might have to be the first cab off the rank. Frampton offer the following. "The IBF are going to force me into fighting Shingo and the WBA are going to force me into fighting Rigondeaux. I obviously can't fight two guys at the same time, so I will probably have to vacate one of them, if not both, and maybe move up to featherweight." The latter means putting on 10 pounds and taking on three division champion Leo Santa Cruz, a man unbeaten in 13 back to back title fights. He's the current WBA Super World Featherweight Champion. Now that's a super fight. :)
 
Lee with the big man Anthony Joshua after this mornings run..Lee is just out the junior ranks and fights in the semi final of the elite senior bantamweight division of the Scots Champs this Saturday....the final a further weeks on...Champ in the making.

Mick Hennessy has confirmed that Tyson Fury's next fight will be against Vlad Klitschko. The only hold up is the time and venue. The East and West coasts of the USA both want the fight, as does Germany, the UAE and the UK. Fury has stated that he wants to beat Klitschko the follow that with a fight against Anthony Joshua, but Hennessy has said that AJ but he's going to have to wait his turn. So I suppose that even if he beats Charlie Martin, Anthony will get some breathing space.

Hennessy said that as far as he's concerned, the Martin - Joshua bout is not the real deal, as it's for the belt the IBF unfairly took from Fury. He added that Fury is a completely different level than Joshua.
 
A blood splattered Nate Diaz has just smashed Connor McGregor in UFC 196. In a non title welterweight bout, and with just 11 days notice, Diaz choked McGregor into submission near the end of the second round. McGregor turned Diaz's face into a mask of blood in the first, but was caught cold in the second and killed off in quick time. Featherweight to welterweight looked just to big an ask. Two divisions is just too much. Once the powerful, naturally bigger man landed a massive clean shot, it was all over. He took Diaz to the canvas trying to save himself, but once there, it was all over in a matter of seconds.

In a night of upsets Holly Holm, off the back of her demolition of Rhonda Rousey also got beat by Miesha Tate, a woman who Rousey has smahed on a couple of occasions!

Diaz has always loved a brawl, so it was obvious he was going to win after he took McGregors best shots in the first round and was unfazed by them. The more you hit Diaz the stronger he tends to grow in fights.

McGregor is to small for 170 pounds, his strength is striking especially with his hands, so he's always going to struggle against a guy like Diaz who's 6'0 and had a big reach advantage on him.
 
Good to see the Canadian David Lemieux climbing back into the ring after the pounding he took from Gannady Golovkin last October when he lost his IBF belt. He'll fight "King" James De La Rosa in a ten rounder. He should be too good. Some don't think too much of him, but personally, I rather like his heavy handed approach to things. I could be well wrong here, but I still think he's one of the top half dozen Middleweights in the game. I hope he gets to bomb out a win.

I agree mate, anyone who carries that sort of power is always exciting to watch. I don't think he lost much in defeat to Golovkin nobody really expected him to do much. I'd love to see him in with Cotto
