That is a cracking yankee Oddy, no chance he sends him for the JLT unless he is cantering all over Outlander on the gallops which i doubt. Good thing is that Bristol De Mai's price is increasing, only thing i think beats him is More of That if he swerves the RSA.

From a pocket talking POV I'd love Herucles in the 4 miler and it's sometimes hard to be rational about targets when we've backed them for a certain race but I'll try...

When I watched the Warwick run back a few times before he fell the last time, he he looked to travel keen enough and more crucially his jumping was a real asset. Quick, quick, quick through the air. Same after Naas before he fell, he didn't run like a horse crying out for a step up to 4 mile, and if you noticed after he fell, he did take a while to get up, therefore was he tiring more than you'd initially suspect? The way he travels and jumped (bar the last!) in those 2 races tells me he'd be at home over 3miles. In the 4 mile race, I'd wonder would those lazier, less exuberant types relish the last half mile of the marathon trip better? Quite possible that they would. I guess he's shown a cruising speed higher than I anticipated. So reluctantly I'd say he is entitled to run in the RSA. I can't see him beating the top 2 in the market.

If he runs in the JLT that would absolutely stagger me to be honest. Just looking at the cards Mullins can play in that race, against his possible RSA horses I'd be amazed if the great man was daft enough to pitch him there. Doesn't look the place for him, especially when Wylie has Shaneshill who looks suited by the trip.

I was listening to one of those podcast things the other day and one the contributors was saying that horses that fell in their last race before the festival have gone onto win in only 1 of the last 100+ attempts. I know some of you chaps don't give a stuff for stats but that would be enough to put me right off Djakadam, Valseur Lido and Black Hercules.

I dont remember ever fancying less horses at Cheltenham, will bet most of the races no doubt but can count on one hand with fingers to spare the ones I really want to back.

I'll have an interest in Taquin De Seuil (think he goes for the plate)
Altior in the Supreme if he gets there
    Don Poli in the GC
Not much else grabbing me at the moment, but once final decs are up I'm sure I'll find one or two

I obviously haven't learnt my lesson with ante post betting with Faugheen sending me back to the drawing board so i've just put a couple of very small stakes accumulators ons:

    Min 7/4 Supreme
    Un de Sceaux 8/11 QMCC
    Vroum Vroum Mag 5/4 Mares
    Annie Power 2/1 CH
    Douvan 4/9 Arkle
    Thistlecrack 11/10 WH

£1 pays just shy of £100

and then: Min, UDS, Thistlecrack, Douvan £4 pays just shy of £60.

I expect some favourites to get turned over but IF they don't and i look back on the results at the end of the week it will have looked so easy to win in hindsight so thought i'd have a little go just in case its just that easy.

I was just looking beyond the shorties Bob. But yes, he'll be the highlight of the week for me. Not because I stand to win a fortune on him (I don't), but I just find him electrifying. He's a very different horse to Brindisi Breeze but I could watch recordings of boththeir races all day long <ok>

Just reading the Gordon Elliot stable tour on the Sporting Life website and he mentions Killer Crow will be going for the novices handicap chase on the Tuesday. You can still get 20/1 about him for the race although he has been backed today and is low as 12s with Paddy Power. Very interesting if he runs.

No stick I had a terrible festival last year. I'm doing a bit more homework this year, the interesting thing what a difference a year makes no Faugheen or conegree. It's hard enough getting them to the festival let alone winning. I'm in a bit of a quandary, I wasn't going to the festival this year my dads not been well and I've had a phone call this morning and I'm now going, but which days I'd like to be there Tuesday to see camping ground win the champion hurdle as its my favourite day but looks like we are doing wed/Thursday. Wanna see thistlecrack

Lads anybody know much about Nicholls entry for Fred Winter Diego Du Charmil.Heard the yard really fancy it and reckon it's handicapp mark is 'fine'.Nicholls won the Coral Cup last year with a French horse off a leniant mark and could be the same story here. Currently second fav 12s behind Campeador 7/1.During Elliot's stable tour today he said Campeador has to improve a lot on his run lto at Ltown and doesn't know why it's being backed so much.Fred Winter race itself is normally a bookies benefit race but sure i'll have a wee wager on it anyway so DDC could be a nice Ew price.Thoughts?!

Has pretty much the same profile as Aux Petit Sons! Which is probably why they do fancy it ! He was placed in all 3 starts over in France and looks to get further in the future! Must be doing something special at home! As he obv hasn't raced on English soil yet

Pont Alexandre could be 4-miler bound according to the exchanges. It is either that or the RSA it seems for him.

He has been disappointing since chase debut hasn't he? Looked a real natural on comeback.

Sambremont, who chased home Black Hercules, subsequently declared a 4 miler prior to winning at 2 and a half and 2 miles, is now "definitely heading for the 4 miler" <laugh> #MullinsCode
