The 20 fans who went to Belgium under their own steam deserve their own thread. It was a fantastic protest, and they have my thanks for what they have done on behalf of all Charlton fans.

    Didn't they get arrested?

    Very undemocratic of these Belgians.

Respect to them - I've always said that's where the fight needs to happen as he'll be more embarrassed when the Belgium press pick up on it.

I didn't see any talk prior to it though. Would have been interesting to see how many fans would have gone had it not been kept quiet.

Agreed @SuperChrissyisfantasticPardswasatrocious. I would have gladly gone there; head that way a couple of times a year. Would have been able to take three additional fans in my car (making it even more affordable) for those wanting to protest.

Maybe it should have a presence at least once a month there

First of all, good imaginative idea which played well in the media, so well done to the 20 involved.

The problem, as always when Ben "Look at Me" Hayes is involved, is the secrecy and elitism

Hayes couldn't wait to start drawing attention to himself on Saturday with his "please contact the Embassy and International Rescue, 20 fans have gone missing" thread. Followed of course, by..."I knew about this all week, but couldn't share it with you"...

    It just alienates people.

The Belgian 20 went under their own initiative, it had nothing at all to do with CARD, CAST or anyone with a megaphone.

Fair play to them. Shame they have to keep it secret, as it means on CL people know about it. This is the sort of stuff we need to be doing - but on a bigger scale.

Is it me or is that young chap, Joe, really irritating.

Can't see what the problem is. Each to their own.

I read CL a lot instead of working, and he reminds me so much of Ben Hayes - that's probably it!

I think as a young kid, being so involved is excellent, I just think he will end up being a pompous twat like Ben, Richard Hunt and the rest.

Beyond parody to see Richard *unt [Prague] talking down to the protesters...when he himself goes to 3 games a season.

We really need to get away from this "Charlton Fans Leaders" bull which has held us back for so long - seeing Rick doing his Che Guevara impersonation with his loudhailer really was cringeworthy <doh> I particularly enjoyed his rallying cry:

"Katrien....we are going to make this Club unmanageable"

What, with the same 400 protesters every week and Pinnochio masks ?

What did young Joe say? He seems to have deleted it.

Not at all - I have read his 2 months of posts on CL and ITTV

Plenty to be commended , but he is being played by some real operators.

The reason they kept it under wraps was they were worried RD might have done something to stymie it. To be honest, I make them correct on that, all the early protests mysteriously coincided with offers in Legends bars, a kiddies day in the car park or other packages. There was a thread on CL but no info, you had to text someone if you wanted the lowdown on it. To be honest, I'm not too interested in criticising anyone about the protests. I thought the balck and White thing was a bit limp, but it is doing something to focus on, and if you think it may not shift RD out of the Valley, you are almost certainly right but these things are like chinese wáter torture- each drop in itself may not hurt, but the accumilation is where the result lies. This one in particular was right in RD's back yard, so I have nothing but praise. The media coverage on it's own was probably worth a kick in the balls for the Belgian freak.

Normally agree with what you post Ken, but I think the weak knee trembling side of the protests needs to stop now. That bloated, badly dressed cretin Ben "Delacroix" Hayes has been on CAFC Facebook, calling out the fans who support violence...as if his Pound Shop Black and White scarves have sent Katrien scuttling to the toilet every Saturday. I have utter respect for the 3,000 who bought Sts and boycotted, and utter respect for the same 500 of us who protest in the rain in the car park after every game [we didn't need to be told by CARD], but far, far too many wallies and nerds are still walking by on the other side, and the usual motley crew of Murray-era apologists - Everitt, Matt Wright, Richard Hunt, Pemberton, Steve Clarke and of course Buddha Hayes himself, have hijacked CARD for their own purposes - namely get Varney in so that they can get their old jobs and perks back.

For as long as Hayes digs out fans in his censorious, "I am one of life's underachievers" style - he can count me against anything he is involved in. He has been doing this at Charlton now for the best part of 30 years. More fool anyone like gullible Joe who falls for it.

This protest had to stay behind closed doors for obvious reasons.

Now you've argued that we shouldn't kept it secret and should have involved other forums, Reams has said that too.

Well look no further than this thread to see why that hasn't happened.

"Irritating", "pompous twat", "played like a fiddle" and "gullible".

Honestly I have no idea what I've done wrong in your eyes.

The sooner you guys get over your weird obsession of slagging off anyone trying to do anything the better because it does **** all to help rid the club of the people ripping it apart.
