not hyperbole at all. Ivan & Matic et al have what it takes to play for us. Mikel never had it, simple.
I have nothing against the guy Mikel, but the player Mikel is one of the awful players we have had for so long.

Easiest of positions is DM. Directly responsible for nothing. No wonder DM players are one of the lowly rated in all teams.

DM like Matic, Makele, Essien & Poga only stand out. Because they go above & beyond and do S#!t.

Mikel has engine of 36 year old Lamps & footballing brain of Rambo.

Can you point one game where Mikel made meaningful contribution? Has scored 1 goal in like zillion appearances for us.

Out of curiosity who would you play instead of Mikel? We've got limited options, we sold Ramires and Matic has been dreadful all season. We haven't got anybody else, have we?!

You can get 40/1 if you think it'll happen but you might as well do an accumulator on winning all of the last 12 games. 11 wins and a draw would be a remarkable run, more than doubling the current points haul, and City would need 20 points from 12 games to match it.

Makalele only scored what 2 goals for us as well? You don't have players like that in the team to score goals. Essien and Pogba aren't defensive mids, they are box to box, completely different.

I'm not saying Mikel is amazing, I'm saying he is a solid squad player. But then perhaps you know more than the last 10 or so Chelsea managers who have all played him to varying degrees. Didn;t he get a man of the match a few games back as well? Can't remember who against though.

I can understand people not wanting him being played but when you come out with comments like 'top 4 is ours to lose if Mikel only plays x amount of minutes' it sounds ****ing ridiculous frankly.

Agree with this. Mikel isn't in the team to score goals. He's there to win the ball and give it to the flair players.

Agree with you, how is his tackling in the last 10 matches?
We have conceded 3 against Everton, 2 against Watford & West Brom. So he is doing a job, then?

Well, his tackling hasn't been bad from what I have seen. Are all the goals we concede really down to him? Look mate, I'm not saying that he's a worldbeater.
I just don't think he's as bad as you make out. <ok>

Are you seriously blaming all this on Mikel?

If you can highlight goals he was specifically responsible for then you may have a point. Otherwise we may as well drop every defensive player that played in those games including Terry, Dave, Ivan and Courtois.

Mikel is too slow - probably slower than Fab and slowest in our squad.
If he is to protect JT & our unsettled defence - we would be dire.

You cannot seriously compare Matic's class to Mikel's. Form is temp Class is permanent!!
Our back 4 is now in the best place all season & Mikel is not too exposed.
Courtois equally at fault - not just Baba. Kennedy does ok in that back 4.

Top 4 doesn't look too distant now.
11 in 11 is not too big a gap.

Huge day today in the cup would be ok if Pool wins to initiate the tailspin for City!
We should start Manny Tap-up, after all biggest gift Manny can give Pep is Europa <whistle>

Both Manchester clubs are there for the taking, City's timing of the Pellegrini decision was ****ing awful, football players, like most people, don't like the uncertainty of a new boss, having that hanging over you head for a few months isn't good, especially when the manager has already got rid of your star player at his last club. I think you'll overhaul Utd by seasons end, but not City.

Try Kennedy or Baba (like Luis last season). RLC or some kid from the academy. Anyone can be on par or better than Mikel.

Ok, awful Sunday inspite of Goons losing to U21s at OT & Pool losing a cup final.

Gives City momentum for top 4 even top 1.
Gives Manu hope - even though that is FALSE.

    Aye, thats not gonna happen.
Only chance we have of being in next seasons CL is if we win this seasons CL :)
In hindsight, would have been better for us to drop in to the Europa League, since the EL winners get a CL spot now too.
We'd have had a better chance of winning the EL than the CL.

Agreed and probably another reason why the Europa League doesn't work . What a farce to potential give a team that didn't even progress to the knockouts of the C.L a C.L place if they win an inferior comp. We could get to the final and lose and not get a C.L place but say United or Liverpool may finish 6th and win Europa and be in the C.L next year.

Obviously a move to try and increase the kudos of the Europa but they killed that long ago with all the format changes.

I'd much rather both comps go back to straight knock out. Much more exciting.

Definitely. No seeds or rankings. pull them out and if Real draw Barca in the first round, then tough. <ok>

That would never happen though, they want the teams with the bigger fanbases in the competition for as long as possible. for the TV ratings.

All about the money. How many times is that a reason for something nonsensical in football nowadays!!
