More than half of Sweden is covered in forest so it's understandable they'd weave some supernatural tale about it. I'm a real convert to the Nordic Noir genre. Some of that scenery is breathtakingly beautiful. The show is a great advertisment for the tourism industry in Sweden. Plus I think Moa Gammel is lovely and a really talented actress.

I don't think I'd want to visit there with all this going on! Has put me right off! :emoticon-0105-wink::emoticon-0140-rofl:

Got to pick out which will be my next one of these. I have "Borgen" which I think is a political thriller, so..not as exciting, but suppose to be very good. I think it's is going to have to be "The 100 Code". Don't think I have any others on my list right now. Can you think of any others you have seen or plan to watch?

Ah, "Trapped" is another one. Something about trying to solve a crime in an Iceland town, before a bit storm hits.

I've been watching 'Trapped', pretty good stuff.

It warned at the start some scenes may be upsetting - yeah, the ones with weather in them! <yikes>

What I liked about the Scandiwegian genre is that the actors were fresh, unlike British ones where a lot of actors are typecast - you know which ones are going to be baddies. However, the captain of the Danish ship in 'Trapped' was the guy who was the husband in 'The Killing', so won't be long until it's the same for those! :grin:

<laugh> Indeed not.

Definitely worth a look - supposedly the biggest budget Icelandic series to date (though I doubt the competition is that fierce)

Missed the start of Trapped. Looked right up my street. May wait until it comes out on amazon prime and view it then.

Just watched the Pilot episode of Defiance. Sci-Fi set 30 years in the future where humans co-populate the planet with other alien races. Interesting and will give it a go. Although some of the acting is stiff and the main character annoying!

Oh wow, nice! That sounds promising. I will definitely watch it.

Saying earlier "I'm running out of shows like that to watch", just saw an advert for a new show from Sweden called "Thicker Than Water"

Hard to find much info about it, but seems like it's a Mother, reuniting her 3 adult children and have to confront events that happened in their past, to try and bring them back together. Set on a beautiful Swedish island.

Saw the first one, wasn't sure if I liked it or not. Seemed a lot happened in the opening episode and it has potential, think it's going to be one of those things that really annoys me however so whilst we're going to persevere (haven't seen episode 2 yet) I don't have massive hopes for it. I love Hugh Laurie, but he doesn't feel right in it for some reason.
