This exchange was happening while Johnson received a picture message from GF Stacey Flounders of their daughter. He didn't reply immediately. Johnson on why he would "only last 10 seconds": "If anything was going to happen other than a kiss." AJ: "I accept I have said stupid things. I accept that I kissed her and I accept it was all my fault. I can't accept the other two allegations. I can't accept them because they didn't happen." Johnson has also said his respect for Stacey was one of the reasons that he didn't meet the girl again. Jury has previously heard from Johnson that when he was kissing the girl he realised it had to stop. He has added: "I knew in my head that I wasn't going to see her again." While texting the girl, he and Stacey continued talking about their relationship Message from SF to AJ: "I am going to try and not be negative and believe you more. If you are doing something stupid you need to stop. Be a shame to spoil it." AJ to SF: "I will try Pip. I am happy to try and see how we go. I want [my daughter] to live at home." We have already heard in his evidence that Johnson was contacting other women in their 20s with explicit messages Johnson has just said that at this time he and Stacey were talking quite a lot about him texting other people. Still kind of disgusting view to have. You have no facts to even suggest it, so it's your view the girl or girls family are money grabbers.
If I found out that someone had used his celebrity to get near a child of mine, I'd be straight down the cop shop as well. And money would never even come into it. Not everyone is after money.
SAFC player Steven Fletcher was due to give evidence on Johnson's behalf regarding the state of his pubic hair. Johnson has said he is now "unwilling" to testify. Read more: http://www.sunderlandecho.com/live/event#ixzz415QyjDTl Interesting...
Absolutely Fran. In fact I'd go as far as to say I would do all I can to keep the child out of the media and tell them to shove their money up the culprit's ....
I thought once you'd made a statement you were bound by law to attend though? EDIT: Think that's only prosecution witnesses actually.
If the prosecution get the merest hint that Fletcher's evidence might be prejudicial to AJ's case they'll slap a subpoena on him straight away. That stuff about his team mates asking him about the age of consent surely needs to be verified, quite apart from the body hair evidence.
Stacey Flounders has now taken oath and just beginning evidence. Can anyone who knows more legally clear something up for me? I was under the impression that if you were due to give evidence in a trial then you couldn't watch any of the evidence that is given previous to yours. She attended last week the day of the girl giving evidence. Or is this only for prosecution witnesses? Thanks in advance
Stacey Flounders says she is willing to be 'just friends' with AJ as he is the father of her child. Said she sees no future with him beyond that and she's not going to lie about anything to help his defence. Apparently since she started talking 40 minutes ago he's been looking at the floor rather than at her. Updates courtesy of the Sunderland Echo: http://www.sunderlandecho.com/live/event?1834584
I thought the same so found this link which seems to confirm you shouldn't see any of the trial. https://www.cps.gov.uk/victims_witnesses/going_to_court/giving_evidence.html Maybe she wasn't going to give evidence but because a witness refused to give evidence she was asked to. Prosecution and Judge would have to agree I would imagine. Prosecution probably very happy to get her on the stand!
Cheers Whiteley Yeah I thought so because I had to give evidence in a murder trial before and I wasn't allowed to watch ANY of the proceedings until my evidence was done, understandable but it just seems strange that she can give her evidence after watching the girl give hers. Unless this is the reason she hasn't been in court since?
