It's an important step for those teams looking to bridge the gap to Mercedes so its also an important step for us fans who want close racing! We're still a way off but the steps are in place, bit by bit!

According to BBC, Jenson has said that they won't be the fastest car through testing or most of the year. Says he's more interested in the progress they are making. Hope they kinda outperform those expectations, I can't take this Merc bore fest anymore
Mercedes alternating their drivers for day 3 and day 4 so that they don't get tired.... does that count as trolling?
Interesting that Button has got himself within 2 tenths of Massa on the medium tyres. Both Williams and McLaren are shying away from headline times whilst knocking in some good lap counts- I wonder where they will end up sitting in the chasing pack behind Mercedes and Ferrari?
Ominous from Merc and Rosberg.. Basically saying, they're not chasing times, they're trying to break the bleading thing by driving as many laps as they are.. (still to break, only minor niggles by all accounts) and he did state, its quick but we not bothered about times right now.. I bloody hope the others have some pace in their cars, I could well turn off half way through the season, an inter-team battle is not the same as a good 3-4 way team battle!
Is it premature to start losing hope already? Got a bad feeling of deja vu. Mercedes will win all bar three races, Hamilton will thrash Rosberg and McLaren may as well stay at home. Sigh.
Ferrari look tasty though. I mean some issues today, but that's what testing is for and all that. We can certainly say Merc have reliability but I await with interest some indication of where the relative pace is. I suspect (or is that just hope?) that the pace gap may have closed a bit.
Today's been a bit uneventful really, Ferrari with issues but nothing to hamper them season long I don't think. Mercedes just doing the mileage, the midfield guys all on mixed testing plans. Least useful day for the fans so far?
Much of a change in noise? Car looks stable anyway. Then again it should given they're not pushing apperently.
It was looking so good 15:49 It seems there will be no more running for Button today. We're hearing the Honda engine is out of the car.
I read somewhere this was an interim engine spec. Hopefully the reason it is interim is that they had discovered, on the dyno, an inherit weakness that will be fixed for the next test but they wanted to correlate the dyno results with the track tests. I hope they have proved that the PU was as reliable as they expected and the new one will have the improvements they need both in reliability and power. Maybe that is too much wishful thinking but we will only really know at the first race in Aus.....
