Stadium of Light. The translation of Benfica's home is Stadium of Light (Estadio de Luz) and Sunderland's ground was named that as a tribute to the coal miners from the area.

Very close barry but not quite there. How is naming Sunderland's ground "The Stadium of Light" a tribute to miners?

The Stadium in Sunderland was very definitely named in honour of miners - there is a Davy Lamp monument at the entry to the stadium - the only link I can find to Benfica is in the stadium names although 'Estadio de Luz' refers to the part of Lisbon it is in and translates only very loosely into stadium of light.

The stadium of light in Sunderland was built on the former site of Wearmouth Colliery - but I am struggling with the connection to Benfica (other than the stadium name).

Correct. Connection is the stadium name - simple as that. British Coal owned Wearmouth Colliery when it closed. Straightforward. Over to you.

Cheers Vic. Ok. The judge presiding over your case has a type of spear in his hand and one of the possible sentences is to have to kiss the royal baby. Where are you ?

First clue: The same judge also has the power to award the Order of the red nose (or the blue one) but this would be in a completely different place (very different). I'm sure that someone would know this on the Portsmouth board <laugh>
