Read Norwich has an article about this. Only two, Hucks and Holty, would be any where on my list. Ashton was with us too little to count in my opinion, though if he had stayed longer would likely have made the list. Adam Drury and Wes were the other two named. No Martin Peters, Kevin Keelan, Ian Crook, Steve Bruce or Ron Davies just to name a few. I would assume by the list that the author is a lot younger than me so cannot have seen some of these players play, which hardly makes him eligible to write such an article. Hucks, Holty, Peters, Keelan and Davies would be my options, with honourable mentions to numerous others.
I saw this yesterday, GE and thoroughly agree with you Wes would make the list if it was merely players over the last 10-15 years, but not otherwise for me. Ashton and Drury not at all, despite both being excellent players. In fact, as full backs go, in terms of length of service and both being absolute warriors, I'd be inclined to have both Bowen and Culverhouse on the list. Christ, I wish we had them both now, instead of Olsson and Martin/Pinto/Whittaker
Agree that Bowen probably ranks ahead of Drury as a player, after all, he scored in Europe for us, but my best memories of Culverhouse are of him playing as a sweeper. Thought he was superb for us in that role.
Maybe, in five years time, they'll be adding James Maddison to the list? Joe Cole, his teammate at Coventry seems to think so. http://www.pinkun.com/norwich-city/...w_boy_james_maddison_says_joe_cole_1_4423671? And, interestingly, the article ends on the following note - I'm not suggesting JC knows more than Alex Neil, but surely there's some truth in this? Especially in the back four department "Former West Ham, Chelsea and Liverpool playmaker Cole added: “The more you play with each other the more you understand each other’s movements. It almost becomes telepathic. It was great to play with all the lads on Saturday and we’re going to get more cohesion in our play, which will come naturally.”
I was only a lad when we signed Martin Peters and couldn't believe we had signed a World Cup winner. Bill Nicholson thought he was finished when he sold him to us, how wrong he was. Martin was with us twice as long as he was with Spurs and played many more games for us, what a player!
