It also really bugs me how the younger generation in this country go around speaking with an American drawl because of all the crap TV shows and Youtubers they watch from across the pond.
100 Code is a hugely enjoyable Swedish cop drama. Interesting characters and rivetting story with great and disturbing baddies. I didn't think Dermot Monaghan would pull off the American moody cop but he does it well and holds his own with the other talented actors and actresses. Highly recommended. If you like Swedish Noir, and can suspend a little bit of belief, try Jordskott. One of my Top 3 dramas of last year. Blindspot, previously (and briefly) discussed several pages back, infuriated me at times because it was so cliched in that someone always came along at the right time to save the day. Plus there doesn't seem to be much chemistry between the two leading roles. And there needs to be to make it work. But. And it's a big BUT. It ended on such an amazing unexpected cliffhanger (I actually thought the whole of the last episode was awesome) that I'm really looking forward to seeing how it all pans out in Season 2.
Thanks for that! Good bit of info. Will def watch 100 code soon. Out of interest. Is 100 code half subtitles and half English? Or mainly subtitles? Jordskott is also high on my list, but resonantly I have watched Bridge season 3, Man In The High Castle and Deutschland 83 all in the last few months. I need to break up the subtitles ones with easier viewings.
Got Deutschland 83 queued up on Sky Plus and will watch in the next couple of weeks. 100 Code is more subtitles at the start as the Swedes don't initially take to Monaghan's character ignorantly preferring to speak in their own language. But I think there's fewer subtitles as the series develops. Not sonething I really notice as my hearing isn't great and I sometimes need subtitles to understand the English speaking 'mumbling' actors. Have to watch The Wire with subtitles. Don't understand them ghetto boys! Even with the subtitles on there's still a bit of translating to be done!
I adore Vikings, but I can't watch just 1 at a time. So I've got to wait for it to all air, or nearly totally air before starting it. Can't wait!
Ok cool, Look forward to watching it. Haha, The Wire is an old classic people always mention. I've never watched that yet. Feels like it will be quiet a job to take on.
Everyone says that, but I've never fancied watching it. Also Will everyone saying it's the best, how will it ever live up to it? bound to be a let down for me.
I find everything else I've watched since watching it is a let down, nothing comes close imo. It's just so brilliantly done, how each series captures a different side of Baltimore society is incredible. The only series I've ever watched and at the end had to pause for a while to appreciate just what I've witnessed. Seriously good TV. I don't actually know anyone that's given it a good go and hasn't liked it. IMDB are known for being very honest and harsh at times, but it got a 9.4/10 http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0306414/ Enjoy
I use IMDb everyday, and know all about The Wire and its rating/hype. I'll watch it one of these days
Ray Donovan Season 1. Bit tame, last few episodes were decent. Been told the next 2 seasons are way better. Just watched the first episode of Jordskott. Really good start.
My twitter timeline is chock full of people ridiculing / ripping the piss out of / criticising the Brit awards. So why the **** do they all watch it, rather than just switch over. And why spend all night slagging it off to people like me who couldn't give a flying wossaname about it?? Same whenever Xfactor is on - but we're safe until next autumn on that one
Starts off well. Takes a mad twist half way through through the series which I didn't see coming! Glad you're into it.
I'm on episode four right now. Still loving it. It's already a bit mad. I didn't expect the whole "Forest element" Which is something that has made it a different type of show than I was expecting. I was thinking it would be like "The Bridge", and it has that feel. But also an element of like...Fortitude. Yet again, from the Scandinavian TV writers. Very dark, Moody. Gripping, and beautiful landscape and camera work. Love watching these type of shows.
