Must wins: 4 home games and 2 away, Villa should be relegated by the time we play them so just Norwich. Newcastle vs Bournemouth Newcastle vs Sunderland Norwich vs Newcastle Newcastle vs Swansea Newcastle vs Palace Villa vs Newcastle 6 games x 3 points = 18 24 + 18 = 42 Others: Newcastle vs Man City Stoke vs Newcastle Leicester vs Newcastle Southampton vs Newcastle Liverpool vs Newcastle Newcastle vs Spurs In conclusion, it would be a ****ing disgrace to go down. But i'm scared
It's a toss up between ourselves and the mackems. They look to be kicking on though so I am not feeling overly confident about this. The Championship was decent thought wasn't it...........?
Mathmatically we can still finish above Leicester, so I think realistically that should be the target
The Sunderland and Norwich games are must wins. We'll probably pick up enough points from the other games but we can't hand 3 points to either of them teams and expect to stay up. Draws may not be enough.
Nice, thanks for making my day a bit brighter! Also, I agree fully with your conclusion. Worth pointing out that Ashley, Charnley and Schteve are - individually and collectively - already a disgrace, so relegation only seems fitting!!!
Also worth noting that 6 of the other 7 teams at the bottom of the league all play twice before we play our next game so expect the outlook to get worse before it gets better, if it ever does.
Lets not kid ourselves into thinking the mackems are even considered rivals for relegation. We all know they have the luck around this time of the year to get out of whatever hole they find themselves in. It's between Us, Norwich, Swansea and Bournemouth for the final two relegation places.
You're going to win half your remaining games? Highly unlikely. You've only won 6 from 21. Big ask to win another 6 from 12. Just as well as I think 42 points is well safe. think 38 is the target.
I admire the positivity but I think it is misplaced. I have been saying we are down for a while and I've seen nothing to change my opinion. I reckon Mackems will be ok and ourselves, Norwich and Villa are ****ed
We are ****ed lads. Move beyond acceptance and look forward to some cracking away days. The heart has been ripped out of football by money and in the championship we would hopefully see some wins and go to a game thinking 'we could win this'... rather than 'how many will we concede today'. I'd like to stay in the PL of course but fully expect us to go down. If we do.. it ain't all that bad.
Newcastle vs Bournemouth W Newcastle vs Sunderland D Norwich vs Newcastle D Newcastle vs Swansea W Newcastle vs Palace D (just know that we will be Pardewed.!) Newcastle vs Man City L Stoke vs Newcastle L Leicester vs Newcastle L S`hampton vs Newcastle L Liverpool vs Newcastle D Newcastle vs Spurs L Total points 10+24 = 34 points. Equals Relegation. This is the more realistic forecast.
This seems much more realistic and a good post to work from. Need to find 4 more points from there, if you can turn a couple of draws into wins that's 38. You're not going to stay up with ease, nor are you dead and buried. You're in a relegation scrap with all to play for. Could go either way. Bit of belief from the fans on match day could be the difference, not just for but any of us in the relegation. #believe
They get mountains of belief, support and positivity on match days. It just doesn't seem to register with this lot. Also we have a manager who belongs on the Sunshine Bus.
How many great escape's have we thought exactly the same thing? All you can do is carry on the support and just hope something clicks. Don't dismiss the chances. We've been in much worse positions with less time and we've been pleasantly shocked repeatedly when they've suddenly got their arse in gear. We're all **** at the bottom but fortunately none of us are Villa. It's going to be interesting.
What has been the common theme though Bri? You've had the sense to dump dead weight managers just not getting through to the players. We are just ploughing along with the smiling assassin. I swear he smiles because he is a bit simple and the hamsters can't turn the wheel quick enough to give a response.
Gus had longer than Sam to keep us up. We played neat possession football with 0 penetration and it looked like he was taking us down. Must admit though, so glad we didn't get Tufty. We went for the best man. Tried and tested, few know the league better. Sam was a good appointment who'll lay a good foundation whether we go down or not. All hindsight views as I wanted the Brolly man.
On current form (don't see why there's any reason why our form's gonna suddenly dramatically change: Get mangled vs Saints (a), Leicester (a) Liverpool (a), Spurs (h) and Man City (h) Likely to lose vs Stoke (a) Expect to win vs Bournemouth (h), Palace (h) and Villa (a)...presumably Villa already down by then and not bothered. so that gives us 33 points , definitely not enough to stay up. I'd omitted 3 the games from the above list that could go either way and will most likely decide whether we stay up or go down: vs Mackem (h) - we're due a win vs them, but they've got it together recently whereas we're falling apart vs Norwich (a) - highly unpredictable team, have picked up some unexpected victories, but they've also been rubbish a lot of the season vs Swansea (h) - had a mini revival recently...will it continue?
