I was going to put up lifting me higher in this one as his sire, sea the stars, is two from three runners at sudell.

Also will go with Mr Boomer in the maiden who is out of Giant's Causeway with a 32 percent strike rate here.

Off topic but I know there are a few gooners on here. Really like the 5-2 on Spurs to win the league. Leicester 3-1 will crash when it comes to the final 5 games and Arsenal 6-4?? Come on. They just can't string a run together and think Wenger would rather win the FA Cup again (no one else wants it). Spurs are 7 wins in a row and I think they'll deliberately lose to Fiorentina this week in the Europa League to lose that distraction. 100 notes at 5-2 is a great bet and I'm on.

The 3.05 at Southwell looks a good race, particularly as Stun Gun and The Firm reoppose after battling it out 2 weeks ago.
That was over a mile and today is 7F; in that race, Stun Gun was a clear leader at the furlong pole and The Firm stayed on to win.
Could that be a pointer towards Stun Gun today, I wonder? The Firm is also up 4lb.
The fly in the ointment could be Alpha Tauri who was second to Greyfriarschorista last week, staying on well close to home; that race was well discussed on here.
If Stun Gun repeats that performance of 2 weeks ago, I think it has a great chance, so I'll have some of that.
( of course, all that reasoned argument means Red Unico will actually win it ... )

Hab Reeh looks a good candidate in the Southwell opener, 2.00.

I'm also keen on one at Ayr, My Little Cracker, in the 2.55.

What's that I see in the going description at Ayr? "Good to soft in places"

As Clay Davis would say ................... "shiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiit"

I see that Mr P Wise is wasting no time and will be ‘doing’ the Grand National of the morrow. That won’t give the old boy long to peruse the weights and hit his print deadline following the lunch that sees so many trainers being fed and watered and the weights announced.

Both Holywell and Kruzlinn very ‘blue’ on Oddschecker this morn. Have they been leaked, mewonders?!? The weights that is not the trainers.

Personally, I think P Wise might have a tickle on Hadrian’s Approach.

Unsurprisingly, Many Clouds has been handed top weight in the GN – 11 stone 10 lbs. Early eyecathchers are Triolo D’Alene (11 stone), Long Run (10-8), Kruzhlinn (10-7) and Hadrian’s Approach (10-6).

Oddschecker going completely loopy still over Holywell (10-12).

Legacy Gold who opposes Paddy Power’s little sister was no bad type when with the Crawford’s / Pipe’s. Had a very high strike rate of 75% (6/8) under rules and won at Listed level. Whilst her only defeat over hurdles came in a very hot and valuable handicap.

The huge unknown re her now though is, of course, that she hasn’t run for almost 2 years. Legacy Gold though might have been showing something in her work as connections still have her in next month’s ‘Mares Hurdle’ at Cheltenham.

I'm afraid the exchanges had told the story for a little while. Always playing catchup after more niggles. A great shame as he is an exceptional talent. His reappearance was so full of promise.

Now, I'm the first to admit that there are many better judges of a horse's physique on here, but to me Simonsig never looked like a typical chasing type, always found him a little on the slender side. I could never understand the rush to go chasing with him after his Neptune win. Are his continued injury niggles down to them trying to make him into something he is not?

Ya fair enough but Mr H Cap makes out that there is 32 pounds between them. And it's not going to be form that will give us any real idea of where Annie is. She could beat them by twenty lengths and we will still be no wiser.

Oddy, as I’ve said before they ran Simonsig in the Arkle when he wasn’t 100% and I think his problems stem from this fact. The race was barely more than a penalty kick that year (woefully weak race) and I think they felt it worth the risk. Long term though it undoubtedly wasn’t.
