They ran out out of cash!!! after they burdened Leeds with a 30mill loan at high interest repayments, which is what Cellino renegotiated down, thus shrinking our debt.

OR, they knew exactly what they were doing with helpfull advice and tips from Bates. Let's not forget GFH tried to con Cellino by inserting in the agreement that if Harvey and Co banned Cellino for life, which GFH were relying on, they could buy back Leeds United for 1 quid. Fortunately, Cellino was smarter than them and it backfired on'em......:emoticon-0148-yes:

He hasn't shrunk our debt. He renegotiated how much we pay them back, smaller amounts for a longer period of time and if he'd have completed DD properly he would have spotted their con.
He then loaned the club 20 million from Elanora sports for the day to day running of the club.
As for Cellino being smarter than Harvey & co, if they were going to get the whole club back for a quid because they knew GFH didn't have the cash to run it and he paid 25 million for only 75% of it, I wouldn't call that astute business acumen.

I think the man's a nutter. But he's our nutter. I cannot stand all this vindictive harassment. If he's as vain & mad as the haters suggest, hasn't it occurred to them that he might just run us down to non-league out of spite? He can certainly afford it, and he's get GFH back too. That's my biggest worry. It could happen.

I think " harassment" is overstating things.

I don't. Change the word to bullying if it makes it clearer. Same thing.

And whilst it's not my area of expertise (LL is the professional in the field, so correct me if I'm wrong), I can confidently say that the human psych is a very complex thing, with no two people the same. In context, I mean that person A might take personal abuse like water off a duck's back. Person B might end up in a Psychiatric ward. Cellino appears to have a huge ego & a sensitive, fragile state of mind (the alleged drug use will certainly not help is it's true). It comes as no surprise to me that he can't cope with the constant abuse, as he appears to me to lean towards the 'Psychiatric Ward' end of the spectrum.

There is no doubt in my mind that he's being harassed. Whilst you or I might laugh it off, others might top themselves. Believe me, I was a Samaritans listener for a few years. It happens with a lot less harassment.

A bit like pretending to punch someone in the stomach as they cower away from you or calling someone back from a tour of Italy an telling them their job was "to clean my ****ing shoes"

You're entitled to your view, I see it as campaigning, no more or less, as fans did before against Bates / GFH.

It's certainly a campaign. So was the 3rd Reich. Doesn't make it any more palatable changing the word to campaign.

As for Bates, he deserved it. I've never met anyone who believed in him.

Comparing Leeds fans who would like to see a change of owner to the 3rd reich, I find completely distasteful. They like you with Bates, do not believe in him.
And as for Bates, you feel there is a time for bullying and harassment if you don't like the person?

If you read back, I actually didn't make that direct comparison. I was criticising the use of the word 'campaign' as you appeared to use it as a softer alternative to 'harassment'. I was simply highlighting that it wasn't necessarily a lighter term.

Oh dear.
By invoking Godwin's law the debate is lost.... As always.

Campaigning against something or someone is legal, harassment is not, so in my opinion they are not the same at all.

Afternoon chippy, I'm a poor simple Essex boy so don't understand the reference above.

Here you go...

Godwin’s Law is an internet adage that is derived from one of the earliest bits of Usenet wisdoms, which goes “if you mention Adolf Hitler or Nazis within a discussion thread, you’ve automatically ended whatever discussion you were taking part in.”

I've made my point. Correctly, I believe. I can't be bothered arguing about the english language. Btw, would you call Blair's campaign in Iraq legal? Little bit more than harassment, IMO.

It was a war not a campaign and the only problem with it was we stopped before wiping Islam from the face of the earth whilst we could..... Now it's everyone else's problem.

Don't know, can't be asked with arguing about the English language <laugh>

In which case let's call it neither bullying, harrasing or a campaign but an intervention.

He does quite clearly have psychological problems and by allowing him to continue behaving as he does or even attempting to excuse his behaviour you are merely enabling it.
