We all know this is true.

We're fcked. Our only hope is playing counter attacking football - for which you need a defence - which, of course, we don't have.

I don't know whether it's blind inertia at the top of the club or actual corporate incompetence translated into a complete lack of action but can anyone seriously believe that Tufty left in charge is a positive move in securing the future of this club in next seasons Premier League, if Tufty had any integrity he would walk out the door after admitting he was bollocks, not gonna happen but he should have been sacked today. The club have followed the same plan as Villa, both teams are a shambles with Villa worse off, we are left hoping that in reality 3 teams are gonna be worse than us, as a strategy for survival it's a rather large pan of ****e.

I think we go 4-4-2, keep it simple, attack the flanks and develop dual partnerships all over the field. It's exactly why Leicester are top. It's possible to be exciting, play good football and still use 4-4-2.

They play a lot of long balls would be the cry here, they do. They look to get their runner Vardy into open space. Then they push numbers up to support him. It works. We can't employ those tactics though because we don't have that channel runner. Long is doing the same for Southampton. We used to do it with a guy called Bellamy. Of course we do have the players to come up with a tactic that fits. It can be one up top, it could be two up top. What we need to do is stick to a ****ing tactic and use the squad appropriately - you touched on it in another thread - if Townsend is out, you play Aarons, etc etc.

Leicester happen to have pace, attacking intent and a team that defends together along with some real talent so no chance.

People may hate Pardew but when he had the players he got results by having some game plans to try and beat teams, he did manage it as well some times, I think he would have made a better fist of it with these players than Tufty.

    VOTE G4rd for new manager.

I promise to deliver a team:
That doesn't dribble and if they do we will provide adequate bibs.
A team that knows a tackle (any **** ups in training or matches and they get sent to the tea room with J.P.F. and C.C. for the MNF - midnight frolic)
A team that knows how to defend - better than Adam Johnson's legal team.
A team that scores (goals) - but always checks their birth certificate, cant forget that now can we Fredor...
And my personal promise to never smile - win, lose or draw, having seen A.C.S. attempt at a match day thread I just don't see the point in life.

Seriously though I did put an email to the club offering my services citing my teams 10 match winning streak and my natural charisma. Nowt back yet but I await with baited breathe hahaha

What really confuses me is what is our game plan? How does our transfer business correlate with that plan? I see zero cohesion. I see no planning. In what other walk of life would this be readily accepted. Has he pinned himself as some kind of maverick managerial genius relying completely on his intuition?

I'm not saying we'd be top if we copied! What I meant was they play to strengths - they are solid at the back; they're defenders, not flimsy cardboard wingers. We don't have that, so desperately need wing partnerships to counteract our defensive frailties. We also need someone committed and mobile in the middle to compliment Shelvey - Saivet's been the best so far. We also have inexperienced strikers who cannot be isolated, so we need two up front. Then you have a plan behind the main plan. Thing is, if you play a standard 4-4-2, you're not going to get hammered very often. You may be outplayed, but if you keep banks of four - and with Shelvey/Taylor at least there are voices organising it - you keep the score down. Then it's about individual performances and knowing who's going to come on to make a change depending on the scenario. Nobody has a fcking clue what Macca was doing vs Chelsea. Gini for Colback made sense if we were 1-0 up and under the cosh.

He's playing Football Manager in real life. I tried buying a team of midfielders once. Pretty soon got the sack. Mind you, when I say buy, I mean free transfers. The board of Stenhousemuir didn't take too kindly to me playing 4-6-0 every week.
