Yeah and lets face it JE moving clubs is not a good thing, considering stoke got promoted when he left, he'd be in the premier league now, it would be just his luck to move to Derby and we get promoted
I would be shocked If JE went I think his best career move is to sit tight! However money may talk but Derby arent flush either!!
No this wont happen, watford hav very little debt and then Eustace is old so not going to be enough money. Eustace will stay at watford
It's hard to know whether this one will go through, as Derby are looking for a replacement for Robbie Savage. People are talking on here as if he is 35 or 36, hes only 31! He could have another 6 or 7 years at this level if he keeps himself in good shape and still has the desire to carry on. Our captain at 200k (as was first reported) would be an absolute snip for Derby as he could anchor the team for a few more years. They could also possibly offer higher wages for Eustace as well, and as someone has mentioned, he needs to think about his future. So why would he stay at Watford? Who knows, he seems like an honorable person (remember he took a big wage cut), and might respect our board if they told him he won't be leaving. He may also have an attachment to Watford, because if he really wanted to go he would have left for Leeds last season.
If we accept 200k for him I'd personally ram Bazs words down his throat. Yes silly money anyones for sale but 200k is silly at the wrong end of the scale, we're buiding now not dismantling and the disruption payment would need to be about a million in Eustaces case.
Looks like we are keeping our captain. Famous last words but lets hope he stays as he is vital to us staying up this year and chips in with some important goals. Firmly becoming a Hornet mainstay and yellow blood in him..
All I have heard from my local source is that Derby were interested but Super Johnny Eustace was not interested in a move. Looks like we will keep him as no other clubs have come in and Watford do not want to sell unless silly money is paid. Good news for us all.
How long is his current contract? If he's still with us on September 1st, I could see him honouring it. Not based on anything concrete, I think he likes being the experienced pro with the youngsters coming through.
