I don't really care what the results are for other teams, I've always said its Hull City's results that'll define our season, no one else's! Last time we went up, it was our piss poor end to the season that lead us to have to equal whatever Watford did on the last day, a win would have seen us up regardless! As it turned out a draw was good enough. Watford ****ed up in other games as well as that Leeds games! Yes it's always nice for our rivals to lose, gives more confidence, but as long as we win every game left, we will be Champions!
Zzzzzzzzzz Hey ho. At least you can remember that though I'm glad that I witnessed/remember us winning some European and English trophies. Our time will come again in due course, although it won't be for a long time, granted. No doubt you guys will be keeping an eye on the match tomorrow, wanting us to beat the smoggies. Unfortunately I think the off the pitch turmoil will affect the result - I'm not sure exactly what's in store, but it sounds like theres going to be some serious anti Cellino stuff happening (no doubt he won't turn up as per usual to witness it) Good luck for the rest of the season.
My grandson is 9 and has never known a time when Hull City were not the top team in Yorkshire and above Leeds. Long may it continue.
The main influence Leeds had on our promotion that season was letting us take 6 points off them. What an enjoyable moment when the Leeds players went over to the few Leeds fans remaining in the KC to be greeted with "What thr ****ing hell was that!" after being played off the park and Warnock saying it could have been 6 or 7. Few moments in the PL matched that.
The desperate squeal of 'show us your trophies' (no matter how tainted) tends to be the domain of those that chose a club for vicarious glory, rather than being gifted one by dint of birth or family connection. My club being good bad or indifferent, doesn't reflect on me as a person, except it does show some are virtually unconditionally loyal. The realisation that they're even ****e at picking football clubs must really burn deep with these shallow types, and that does reflect on them personally.
Yes, the trophies. 3 league and 1 cup Same as Huddersfield won in 4 seasons. Less of each than Sheffield Wednesday. Both those clubs having a record attendance considerably higher than Leeds, Wednesday, unlike Leeds, being one of only 13 clubs to have averaged 40,000 in a year. Leeds are Yorkshire's top club? Bury have won the Cup twice as much as Leeds.
We have had four trips to the PL, back to back promotions from league 2 and 1 and an FA cup final since Leeds were last in the PL. now they have the fat CSM in charge and perennially fight against relegation back to league 1. I'd gladly swap any trophies from 20 years ago for our league position now. Plus, what we went through as a club is burned into me as a supporter, it's made me appreciate our position that little bit more and you wouldn't see me gloating to a Rotherham or Huddersfield fan asking me to 'show me their successes in the last decade". Who gives a **** what Leeds did in the 1970s?!
