Match Day Thread QPR v Fulham

Only mustered up the energy to come on here now after a long sleep this afternoon thanks to a silly cold.
Sat in PU in my thermals and making myself not shout since I can barely talk. Just as well since there was not much to shout about apart from some appalling ref decisions including what still looks like a clear red after watching the replay.
Foolham just seem a boggie team for us so get over it.
I'm focussed on next season and hoping that they can build a proper team with a few changes over the summer.
It feels like one step forward and three back but I dare say we'll give Bolton a good run next week. Hopefully.
 
Freezing cold, atrocious performance all capped off by two gloating Ruperts sitting next to me (how do they get tickets? Twotkets perhaps?). Just when the hope builds and you think there could be a few weeks of respite from the turgid crap...... we get humiliated by an utter embarrassment of a game. Truly awful, looked like amateurs giving Fulham some fun at an exhibition match.
 
I'm still in the pub and have downed more pints than I'm capable of. That was horrible and everyone in the ground knew changes were needed early doors. JFH didn't. The midfield was non-existent and needed an extra man in midfield. A bit similar to the game v West Ham a couple of years ago.

We were ****.

Had to do family stuff today, so recorded the match. Just sat through the first-half, fast-forwarded the second-half whilst looking at the score at the top of the screen, only to not see it change for the better until the vinegar strokes of the game. I've now read the comments on this thread too.

Why is it that it takes just one good result, like against Ipswich last week, and we're praising Jimmy Fraud Have-a-**** on here and saying things like his ideas are starting to pay dividends? One swallow doth not a blow job maketh.

I want anybody managing or coaching Queens Park Rangers Football Club to be an unmitigated success, but I was unimpressed by Jimmy Fraud's appointment, I've been unimpressed by the results since his appointment, and I've been unimpressed by the performances that I've seen.

Of course, he's inherited a **** squad full of clueless players, many of whom with reputations substantially greater than their talents, some past their best otherwise they wouldn't be anywhere near this club, and some lightweight and clearly playing at a level greater than their abilities.

I don't know what the alternatives were at the time of his appointment. I don't know whether Warnock, Warlock or Wassock were ever serious contenders. But I don't think that in Have-a-**** we've appointed a manager capable of making the much needed difference to reverse the fortunes of our club.

This team is ****, I'm sad to say.

Well that was a major comedown after last week. Just a shockingly bad performance by team and manager. Mackie and Polter is a joke partnership - they don't have an iota of skill between them and they can't win a ball in the air either. From man-of-the-match last week Luongo looked totally lost today, but I think that was more to do with our formation and his midfield partner. It was plain early on that we getting overrun in midfield and JFH should have changed to 4231. Toszer shouldn't even be considered in a 442 and I would rather have had Henry, which is saying a lot. One step forwards, two steps backwards.

Just landed after a **** day. I'm going to let off a bit of steam in about an hours time when I get home. Watch this space.
 
After the third goal went in, I lapsed into a state much closer to boredom than anger. I think that may be it for me for this season. When I got home I realised a trip to a Polish grocer's on the Uxbridge Road had been BY FAR the highlight of the day for me. That's just not right. In the past I've been able to get something from even the dullest games and the most shambolic defeats - a bit of camaraderie with those around me, perhaps; maybe a sense of satisfaction at sticking with QPR through thin and thinner. Today I just felt blank, bored, dispassionate and distanced from what I was seeing. I think it's just been too sloppy and crappy and pointless for too long now.

Was the difference mainly down to personnel then?

Question - As some having already mention, Hull were relegated with us but can manage to reinvent themselves and push forward again, why can't we?
Answer - Possibly, with so many imposters serving in various managerial positions within our club, it is impossible to make correct decisions going forward.

You've lasted a lot longer than me mate. For a very long time the pleasure of going to matches has been all to do with meeting good people before and during and a bit of black humour. My attention wanders during the actual games. But it doesn't upset me because I have almost no expectations.

You're spot on, we were rubbish. JFH looks lost already and that doesn't really surprise me. His squad is lacking and unfortunately, so is he.

One of two things has to happen quickly. Either the squad improves or JFH suddenly acquires some serious coaching and footballing know how.

Neither looks likely to me.

A shambles like today is never one persons fault alone, but as manager the players and fans expect you to have a higher understanding of whats wrong. This is not unreasonable because when you take charge, together with a much higher salary than most people paying to watch your work, you should bring something to the party. I cannot see what this man brings.

Why does it have to be quickly? It's a slow, large overhaul that is required. Today was obviously very poor but the general trend is a positive one compared to Ramsey's tenure.

Ramsey's tenure is not one to use as a comparison. He was hopelessly in over his head as I believe this one is.

I say quickly because mood and trends in football set in quickly. I understand that QPR are here forever, I shall always be a fan.

However our club have always thrived on momentum. We need the leadership that fans can get behind and our young squad can be in awe of. The kind of spirit that big clubs get rattled by and their fans can't quite understand. Fulham thought we were joke. That's what irks me.

Some positives

Compared to the last time we played Fulham

25% less goals got passed the defence

100% more goals were scored by QPR

In about 3 seasons we will beat Fulham if those improvements continue

Fingy, you OK out there......?

This was a game I'd planned to go to. Instead I ........

1. Drove to Kilkenny this morning for my daughter's hockey match. Lost 4-1.

2. Saw QPR result.

3. Drove to Dublin for my hockey match. Lost 5-3.

4. Saw Irish rugby result.

Now going out for a pint, which will probably be............flat!
