Fellow members and mods,

I know that some people may not - and equally some may - be interested in the trial. I, for one, am interested.

However, I didn't want to flood the Premier League thread, or Koeman's Korner, with these posts. Especially as some people would really rather not see them.

I'll be sharing updates from the trial - which started today - courtesy of top crime reporters in the UK.


Basics:

- Johnson has admitted grooming the 15-year-old girl
- Johnson has admitted sexual contact with the 15-year-old girl
- Johnson denies partaking in sexual intercourse with the 15-year-old girl
- Adidas have ended their sponsorship of Johnson with immediate effect
- Sunderland have terminated Johnson's contract with immediate effect


I'll post updates below. I hope the reason for making this a thread is understood, and worthwhile.

Everyone else, feel free to chip in with updates or views etc.

But remember to be careful in just *what* is said in this thread.

Just thought isolating the topic from Koeman's and the PL thread would be better for those who want to follow the trial, but also those keeping an eye on what is said about the trial.

Reading some of this is actually quite sickening. If possible it's worse than I first thought, his behaviour already is showing all the traits of a predatory nonce.

He's clearly going to state that he kissed her and kissed her only, hope to get off the other 2 charges n then go on about early plea etc.

Horrible piece of work. Hope it's not seen through. Unfortunately I have little faith in this countrys justice system, particuarly when it comes to prosecuting the rich/famous.

    Johnson told the police that in the first meeting he and the girl had kissed with tongues for a couple of minutes in quite a passionate way, the court hears. He then said he regretted it and that he knew he should know better and that his behaviour was poor. His "love for his family" was too strong to go further and he stopped any physical contact with the girl after that, he told police

    Messages between the two later resumed, the court hears. Johnson messaged the girl from another account after forgetting his password. Another meeting was planned and later cancelled, the Crown states. The girl was "distraught" when rumours began about it all, and she told her parents, who encouraged her to tell the police. She did not initially disclose to them the full details about the alleged sexual activity, the court hears.

Deserves whatever he gets, no doubt being a 'celeb' he will get a swift slap on the wrist and warned not to be a naughty boy again? I really wonder about the intelligance levels of some of these people, surely they realise that they have a position of responsibility that comes with being a high profile figure.
I'm feeling really sorry for the girl involved, the Johnson camp will probably paint her as a tramp, but the truth is she is a gullible child , no doubt flattered by the attentions of this scumbag.
I vote for castration.
 
Kate Blackwell QC: "The Crown relies upon these messages to demonstrate the lie from the defendant to the police that immediately after kissing the girl, he realised the error of his ways. These were not the actions of someone whose moral compass, having momentarily wobbled, was back on course


"The crown points to the sexually charged messages sent by the defendant after the encounter. One of them was an image of the girl in a bikini she had posted, and the response by the defendant was 'Yeah, that's what I meant, send one with the bikini off." Also included in that message were wink and smile emojis, the court hears



Kate Blackwell QC: "The defendant knew her age and knew he could take advantage of the situation. That is exactly what he did."



End of prosecutions opening statement, adjourned n evidence to begin to be heard 10.30 Monday morning.
 
Disgraceful under any circumstances, but somehow worse because he took advantage of a girl who hero worshipped him. She sounds inexperienced....just a child testing things out.....which she should be doing with boys her own age. He has to get jail time.
