I think after there own teams everyone thinks it would be nice if Leicester managed to win the league. Don't think anyone gives two ****s about how Spurs do :p

  4. Possibly. But if Leicester is to be ousted by any other team, I like to think that most neutrals would rather it be Spurs than mega-rich £ity or arrogant, up-their-own-arses Arsenal.

I'd imagine Arsenal are a lot of people's second choices to win the league if Leicester don't manage it, for years now people have been saying they want to see Arsenal win it over the oil rich clubs.

Most people would probably rather see Spurs win it than city though.

Well done making out of your cave. You always disappear after you play Chelsea. Can we play you every week?

HIAG seems to have gone awfully quiet. He was furiously rubbing his little chipolata a while ago.

His last post was at 1:51pm today, literally 2 mins before Ozil scored Arsenal's first goal. Since then .... Silence <laugh>

  11. I've been restringing and setting up a few guitars, Pixie, including a Jackson with a Floyd trem system. Plus, I've been learning a new song (Paradise City).

What you've got to remember, Pixie, is that I have a life away from this site.

By the way, I fully expected you to beat Bournemouth. The good thing for Spurs is, that you didn't look at all convincing. Play like that, especially with Giroud playing like a twat, and Leicester are going to embarrass you dreadfully.

I thought we were pretty comfortable, grabbed a couple of goals and then saw out the game. It'll be a totally different match against Leicester, I'd imagine it'll be played at a quicker pace and be more end to end. I think it'll come down to who takes there chances.

I thought Giroud had a good game too, why was he a twat?

  14. You still look suspect in defence, which is the very last thing you need against Leicester, who have been deadly on the counter.

I just thought Giroud had an off day. He didn't look convincing, today.

We can look shaky at the back at times, Gabriel looked a little nervous on the ball today but he doesn't get regular game time so I suppose that's to be expected. It'll be interesting to see if Gabriel or Mertesacker play.

Both teams can be lethal on the counter and I think it could be quite an open game given that Leicester will play there direct football. That's why I think it could be decided by who takes there opportunities when they arise rather than one team dominating the game. Our forwards will need there shooting boots on. I'm thinking it could be quite a high scoring game.

Oh and Giroud I thought was pretty good, had a few headers on goal and got the knock down to assist Ozil, was being a nuisance in the box whenever anything was in the air but as the game wore on he wasn't in it as much which may be why you got that impression.

We were always going to be a bit hesitant today after dropping so many points recently. But overall we had Bournemouth where we wanted them and this win should give us a good boost of confidence before the Leicester game. If we win that, then it's game on for the title race again for us.

As you guys also have a fast paced counter attack, I think Leicester will set up like they did against us. Very much defense first, then use the pace of Vardy, Mahrez & Albrighton on the counter.

If I was a Gooner, I'd dread seeing Mertersacker against Vardy & Mahrez. Those two made a complete mug of Demichelis, they could to the same to him.

  18. True enough, and a valid analysis, afcftw. Leicester have a very strong defence, whereas Arsenal's (by its standards) has been leaky. Leicester relies heavily on its defence to hold firm, to give its counter-attack the opportunity to smash and grab the win. I don't know if it's been luck or genuine skill on Ranieri's part with this tactic, but it has certainly worked, so far. They don't play by the rules and it has taken teams by surprise.

As you say, both you and Leicester like to counter-attack, so it will undoubtedly come down to which side takes its chances. For me, I think Leicester will have the edge, simply on the back of the fact that their defence has performed better, this season.

When Mertesacker plays our defense as a unit look far more settled and organised (excusing his recent ridiculous display) and with the pace of Koscielny and Bellerin we normally have his lack of pace covered, if Coquelin plays in midfield the whole back line should also be more protected and less likely to be exposed.

If they manage to isolate him though we will be in trouble. I can imagine the odd last ditch tackle by Bellerin running back half the length of the pitch! Our positioning to avoid the counter will be really important. If we are dominating possession I'd be inclined to tell the players to make the foul in Leicesters half if they go to break, take the yellow cards.

  20. I wonder if that match will settle, once and for all, who is the better midfielder - Woe-zil or Mahrez!
