Can we now all agree that apart from 1 great season in English footballs 2nd tier the man is a waste of space.
No. He had 2 good years in the PL with us as well the great one in the Championship, and played some brilliant football in that time. Plus he did the same at AC Milan. At 26 he can still do it again.

I think my lotto numbers will come up before .......

I - for one - would be delighted if we were to sign him up again in the summer and say to the fellow 'go on - do it again, then get your dream move'.

I agree totally that he's a wild card off the pitch. But the likes of JFH can handle him well.

Admittedly I've not known not seen the 60s and 70s players that long standing supporters drool over.

For me, the one player who has got me off my seat, game after game, with breathtaking skill. I'd take a season of that again in a heartbeat.

His skills and his ability to get people out of their seats is top class and shared by few others. Stanley was one yes, and he did it for longer than Adel has done to date.

One good season
It was a bit more than a 'good' season wasn't it? He dominated a league in a way vanishingly few players have a before or since, anywhere, particularly playing in a workmanlike team like we had. Of course he's an idiot who has wasted a supreme talent, but Instead of whining on about him it would be nice if sometimes a few would just sit back, reflect and think 'but wasn't he magnificent?' Or if they can't manage that, just forget about him.

Hear hear. I still have a soft spot for the guy for that one glorious year.

I've had 5 straight numbers and five and a supplementry ....... Just waiting for the six straight.
Best of luck mate! I never bother with lotteries. We had a weekly raffle at a job where the lady who ran it kept stats of the number of times each of us won it. After about 10 years 2 of my colleagues were clearly the lucky ones, they had won far more times than any one else. Then there were a lot of people in the middle, average winners. Then there was one with far far fewer wins than anyone - me. So my self made any kind of gambling ban got confirmed!

Adel shone in a team with a solid defence, keeper at the top of his game, a couple of midfield minders to look after him and management that (mostly) tolerated his attitude. The result was watching some of the finest moments I have witnessed at Loftus Road in over 35 years of supporting the Hoops. He was magnificent then, how it all went tits up afterwards has been the theme of many a thread on this board but I still check out his goals on YouTube with a happy grin.

Spot on.

I think a lot of the flak he gets on here is simply frustration, not just for our club but the player himself, at the waste of talent due to poor attitude. You can't live forever on the reputation gained from one and a bit season.

Personally, I'd love him to replicate even 50% of what he did for us, even if I did feel a bit miffed he was doing it for another club.
