Cutting back on a lot of wages, but will it be too much?

I think we're short in midfield.

I'm not convinced Kone will even be a regular first teamer. He's come from a poor league where he didn't particularly stand out - Lorient have the joint 3rd worst defensive record in the league. Know nowt about him but the reviews I've heard don't sound promising... I'll be suprised if he dislodges the O'Shea / Kaboul partnership when fully fit.
I hope your wrong mate
I thought he was bought as a rock who can attack high balls ??????????

My take on this Giacc is that yes we have massively reduced the wage bill and yes we are short in the midfield area so now is the time to bring through some of the youth into the first team. Can’t remember if Gooch is on loan? But Beadling, Smith and Agnew could they do a job?

iirc he`s on loan for a month.

Gooch is at Doncaster on a month's loan, Beadling is back in the U21s but he's a defender.
Agnew and Smith could step up if we were desperate but I would prefer Gooch, maybe that's why he's been sent out on loan - to see if he can cope.

That`s the only reason I can think of for such a short stint.

I know Beading is a defender, worded my previous post incorrectly. But could bring him in on the bench and even put Kirchhoff (the German lad) into midfield, just options I suppose.
