They're still a work in progress.

Martinez has under performed this season, he's got little excuse for that. We should be a top 6 side with that squad.

Not really. Wanted to see us strengthen the side, particularly upfront so i am disappointed that we didn't see anyone arrive. However I'm realistic enough to know we have five strikers on the books and we were unlikely to see any of them leave meaning it was even less likely for a striker to arrive.

A goalscoring AM is the next best thing but we have plenty of those too. Therefore, I wasn't keen to see us blow a **** load of money on a player in that position.

I would have still liked to see the midfield improved but again, we have Can, Hendo, Milner, Allen and Lucas fighting for three spots. Not exactly short plus a couple of the youth (but not so young) players such as Stewart and Branno.

Basically, we can improve in most areas but i think we need to sell some "deadwood" first. I also think Klopp was genuine when he said he'd give players until the summer to prove their worth.

Should be good for another £10-15 million from some numpty with money to burn

Also reports linking us to Xhaka
Add another player of quality and that'll be a decent addition..
We don't have the cash some of the other teams do..
We won't have CL to offer either..
So we're gonna rely on getting the recruitment right this time and then letting (hoping) Klopp work his magic..

EDIT.. that bit about Tex saying "Not today, but in summer [HASHTAG]#LFC[/HASHTAG]" could be a fake.. stand down!

I think we can clearly see Klopps ideas coming together, even if he is making do with scraps atm.

Coutinho's free role on the left was working well, and him and Lallana work well behind Firmino, but unfortunately Lallana lacks end product, so this is where Texeira comes in.

Klopp said he needs CB's who are good at winning headers and can quickly play the ball forward. This is because our high pressing often leads to our oppoanants hitting long balls. Klopp needs our CB's to win those balls and start counter attacks. From what I have seen, this describes Matib, as well as Sakho. Lovren does ok but not Skrtel.

Our midfield clearly lacks aggression, physicality and creativity. I think this is where Klopp has stuggled most with the players available, though it seems he is a fan of Can, Henderson and Allen, all of those players do best when paired with a solid DM who can do the dirty work and play pretty balls. I'v not seen Xhaka but apparently he suits this.

We need a winger to work with our 3 number 10's, but I want Markovic to get the first try.

Clyne and Moreno are safe at FB. Who knows what Klopp thinks about Mignolet.

3 Players away from decent and versatile. Around £75m? I'd also like a GK personally.

Out goings of Skrtel, Balotelli, Benteke, Milner, Bogdan and Toure should ease the wage bill enough to do this. Youngsters like Ojo, Brannagan, Grujic and Smith can provide additional depth.

I don't know why you guys still bother with markovic.. what evidence have you at all about him being in any way wanted (or not wanted).. has he said anything remotely like he wants to come back and prove himself?

probably because we paid 20 odd mill for him, hes still young and we have a new manager who can maybe develop him still?

well it will be wasted should he not return and be sold for less yes, if he comes back, takes to klopps type of football and becomes a legend then its obviously better for all involved.

i cant see us selling him without klopp having seen him in action, unless klopp has seen enough to know he wont fit, which i doubt going by his "work with the players here/everyone gets a chance" mantra

when he did have a chance with us it was mainly out of position and he wasnt given a whole heap of time before BR binned him
