It appears Sb73 chance at the Brixton Memorial League title was nearly scuppered, when MK Dons came looking for our Jamie (o.g Mackie) Luckily for Stan, the offer was turned down Stan your title challenge is still on http://www.westlondonsport.com/qpr/qpr-rejected-pre-deadline-approach-for-mackie
He splits opinion but he's versatile and a good example for the younger players regardless of whether you rate him.
I would have sacrificed prediction league glory to wave goodbye to Mackie. I think he will get minimal game time, a waste of a contract.
None of us really know what he offers off the pitch, on the training ground and in the dressing room. I imagine he's a very good influence like Hill or Derry.
Definitely one of my favourite goals of all time (even though it didn't matter because we lost...which didn't matter because Stoke won...which didn't matter because the next year...etc, etc....)
Do you think what he offers off the pitch is worth £X,000 a week? Obviously his impact can't be that great given performance standards since he returned. Nor Hill's for that matter. If better players ran around as much as Mackie and cared as much as Hill that may be worth having.
I'm not saying he's been a good season so far. I just think he probably offers more than most not in the team.
If Mackie is fit and can chip in with a few, if unspectacular goals, like these, that would be great.
