All very dramatic but don't forget about FFP if we don't balance books we get a transfer embargo.

There is no denying that Ramsey and JFH have underperformed with the squads they have. If we were up there with a chance of automatic then maybe we would have gambled and kept Austin and Sandro but with the league position, FFP and next season to concentrate on I think we've had an excellent window.

Sandro gone is a shame but it's a reality. Now Luongo can get more game time, become a better player and forge a partnership with Faurlin to be the base of next year's team.

Austin's sale of £4m rising to £8m with add ons was a reality of FFP and our league position. Part of that money bought Washington which looks a great buy. Added bonus his contract don't end in the summer!! Afobe and Ali were both League One last year. So don't right off quality to be found in that league.

Will not miss Fer at all. He can't be bothered in this league. And with FFP we are better off without. Him leaving means more time for the far more effective Chery and this new lad from Burton.

JET clearly doesn't fit into JFH's style so again makes sense to clear a wage to help balance the books.

Also with Robinson nearing fitness that's like a new signing.

So overall i'd say TF and Co gave them a chance they ****ed it up. Now they are giving JFH another chance but within our means which is sensible considering FFP

Pretty fair summing up Peter. Think you got it on the nose

Super post Peter <ok>

Well said Peter.

This!

We were buying **** in Harrods. Just because it's expensive **** it is still ****. Our Poundland purchases might be Waitrose some day.
That was my analogy!
But on a serious note i don't think the JFH project will end happily.
Said before i don't think he is the right type of manager to get us out of the championship. I have seen nothing in his first 11 games to make me say 'Wow"! Benny cost us this season and we should have kept NW after that. Sadly we don't know why NW never stayed on but he seems to be available recently so who knows?

I don't care what people say about the wasters that left, and agree they underachieved, however compare the ball control of Austin to Polter. That's what's happening we are getting in players that are inferior and that quality will show. Now i am not saying all will be rubbish, in fact, Washington, in his short time looks decent but all we seem to be doing is what we have done before, wholesale change and that was our downfall.

I maybe wrong and it will all work out, and as a QPR fan, i hope it does. What i don't want to see are posters moaning if it goes wrong because many on here seem happy to lose so many players.
Anyway time will tell and if it goes wrong Tony may bring out a new kit.

Good post Peter. This window was all about 20016/17.

... a season to consolidate and give youth a chance under Ramsey lasted about two months before Tone returned and announced we were going for it.

TF wanted all of the big earners out and a season to consolidate - then go again.

When the likes of Hoillet, Phillips, Fer, Green, Sandro and Austin failed to move on who can blame TF for announcing that we were going for promotion? It was - on paper - a much stronger team than they thought that they would probably have.

Had three or four of those moved on over the summer then the aim of consolidation would have stuck throughout the season.

Now Austin, Sandro, Fer and (to all intents and purposes) Green have gone we must return to the goal of consolidation.

Whilst I agree that this season is effectively a write off as far as promotion or relegation go, I think we've got some optimism for next season;

1. We've addressed our GK situation. Smithies and Ingram both very capable.

2. Luongo will get regular game time in midfield, and he's got real potential. An axis of him, Faurlin and Chery could be fun to watch.

3. Washington looks a find, Polter is playing with confidence and a returning Mackie will give us some passion and leadership in the side.

4. We finally have a natural left winger in El Khayati.....finally!

5. Jack Robinson will be like a new signing at Left Back, and it's good to see Kwapeka recalled.

As far as their first transfer window as a duo is concerned, I think Les and JFH have done well.

In the summer Rob Green will leave, hopefully Sandro/Fer/Caulker/Phillips all secure permanent moves bringing us in some money so we can reshape the squad.

Far to sensible, but apart from that great post <ok>

The thought of building, and not decaying, is an good one

Every time he sticks his oar in he makes himself and the club look idiotic. There was no need for anything to be said publicly.
