haig rates him highly so its a no from me dont fancy him much myself, we can and should be aiming for a lot better imo
Id have him definitely but 20+ million seems a lot Like it seemed alot to me over this Tex fella as well
I actually think he is a talented player but an utter arsehole. If he goes to a bigger club and scores a few goals, by next season he will be thinking he should be at Madrid/Barca.
I hope he signs for the barcodes for two reasons; 1. He's massively over priced and a complete twat 2. HIAG's head will explode
Well we've seenhow he behaves when that happens, like Lovren But us Reds dont have to worry about bigger clubs (Barca have kidnapped Suarez until Ballotelli finishes his loan deal)
Id take berahino in a heartbeat. 20m might be tad expensive given he hasn't played this year though. Kid offers pace, runs in behind so can stretch teams and is cool in the box. He can score goals.... And has scored goals when he's played. Can an you blame the kid for wanting to get out the team? Yeah he may have gone about it a bit twattishly, but he was at west brim scored loads of goals and a team competing for CL came in for him. He wanted to move to play in said team, instead got stuck paying for Pullis often out wide.
Shouldn't have signed such a long contract then, if a player thinks he will want to move if he does well he should only sign for 1/2 years at a time.
@organic red @Jimmy Squarefoot Can you two not understand this? Listen to Tobes. Berahino is not a professional, he's an ass hole and poison to a dressing room. He will only try when it suits him. I find it personally hilarious that Jimmy you in particular will abuse players you think are **** despite them being workers while defending this sort.. You've form for Balotelli and now we should be signing this turd.
@InFlannoWeTrust I think you need to think on this..... Berahino could be going to the euros..... but he's not tried a leg so he's forced West brom hand but do you see Tottenham in yet? As a result he's not going... no chance. Well I think poch won't want him any more... attitude stinks and he could sour dressing rooms. .... Do we see a generational difference of opinion here? I see 2 guys I know are under 30 thinking what berahino has been at is no big deal while those of us who are a bit older see him as pure poison Just cos he can run doesn't mean much to me personally.. how hard he runs does.
Btw this guy has had one good year to back this behaviour..... one. He's 22 and he got a few goals in his first year and last year got 14 league goals and 6 cup goals last year. So far this year after trying to force his move with his agent he's played 18 games in a variety of ways and got 3 league goals He's proven himself not ready to be relied on and expected of to perform week in week out. A proper player would say ok I've a deal to 2017 that's a while but I can play in the prem and build my reputation and experience playing every week and really be ready to play for a big club and be confident the rewards will come. Instead of that he's decided like sterling that he should get the massive wage right now and doesn't think the massive wage should mean massive performance.
Interesting debate. Personally, I look at player's ability in terms of technique and intelligence, and style/fit with our team, whilst off the field (or even on the field) antics aren't that much of a problem for me. Personality and attitude are also big parts but the way I see it is - having top class ability and poor attitude will give you a higher ceiling than someone with limited ability and a highly professional attitude. Berahino has pushed for a move - it's a bit of d*ck move but I have no problems with players wanting to leave for bigger and better things. To me, it shows ambition. Our club is far from being the pinnacle of any professional footballer who aspires to become the best. If a player joins us and thinks he's made it, then he's simply not good enough in the first place.
Or he wanted to move to a club challenging for CL places in the run up to the Euro's rather than play wide right for a team fighting relegation for a manager that is known to prefer a big target man up front to lump the ball to...
